Hello,

I`ve been meaning to ask you guys a question how much would a site with an email list and all personal data like age (all over 18)where you live and so on fetch.I have 18.000 people there?Can you give me an aproximation all emails are active?

    Emails are valued at around $1 per month..

    However if you sell them, you probably won't get any more than $2000 - $3000 for a list of 18000

    I've seen auctions on ebay of 1Million person list..however no-one buys them

    Your email list may in fact be worth zip to the next guy for various reasons that have been discussed many,many times before...
    Also, when these people opted in to your list, did they give you permission to sell their personal info?

      The problem, as I see it ...

      1- The list, if targeted at all, will not be relevant to whoever buys it unless that person is in the same market
      2- As was stated, you most likely don't have the list subscriber's permission to sell or share their personal contact information
      3- You say all emails are active? I highly doubt it. The average person in the U.S. changes their email address every 5 months so they won't be active for long is there is no updating of addresses
      4- You can purchase lists of 100,000 emails for less than $20, easily and readily
      5- You are proposing to do a disservice to the list. Imagine you were on that list. Would you want your personal information to be sold to someone who is going to spam you? You will get many complaints and there's a good chance your hosting service will shut you down.
      6- Your credibility as a marketer will be tainted.

      Don't buy or sell email lists unless you have permission from every person you include.

    Lists are only brought and sold because in 1 of 3 posts in this forum some expert with over 10,000 posts says how good a list is, the only real way to make money in IM is trough a list, lists are best, etc.

    Steve says it right. The list is only valuable to the business where the people subscribed. You will be better if you sell "solo ads". Do a search on forum if you don't know about it.

    Also, there are legal implications if you do not have the right to sell the list. Also, in some countries it is forbidden to store personal data unless you are registered to do this.

    It depends on if the emails are verified also. Many people sell email lists that have a bunch of non active emails on it. If you can prove quality, and conversion power you will be able to charge more than the $1 an email.

    I agree with SelfDisciplineAcademy. Sell solo ads from your list. If you have a list of 18,000 active email subscribers, you can easily guarantee 1000 clicks. However it all depends on the niche. If your niche is highly targeted, it could be worth a lot.

    I had a list of 800 people interested in buying high end hot tubs. I sold each email for $60 so I made $48,000 selling email infos to over 12 hot tub companies.
