How Do You Estimate A Budgeting Proposal?

Let's say you have a client who wants to run a campaign on Facebook to capture leads, then send subs to their e-commerce store through an email series.

Their goal is to get more sales but they don't have a budget or won't tell you the budget.

How do you go about giving them a minimum budget to work with for both the FB and email marketing campaigns that will give you enough data to know if the project will be profitable or not?

How would you break this down?

paid advertising is tricky. Getting statistically relevant data that you can make decisions on is sometimes costly.

you could have a room of 10 FB adverting experts and all they would have are good ideas and theories about how to approach each individuals companies fb advertising.

until the ads actually start running and the conversion data starts coming in, everyone is just guessing. And even once you get some data, that may tell you to change your landing page and then start again.

my point is that there is no right answer to this really. it depends on so many factors.

if you are doing consulting type work and they wont tell you what you are working with, its going to be hard to be successful with your hands tied behind your back.

if they told me i had an ad budget of $100, i would make different recommendations than if they told me the ad budget was 10k. not saying i couldn't do some advertising for $100, but if thats all i had, i would certainly use it differently than if i had a stack of 100's to accomplish my advertising goals with.

Yeah, you can't measure it/ Testing and optimization is key. I spent 500 before I figured out the formula to get my first sale with my book. I'm still trying to make that process better also.
