Hey There, So here's my problem... I've got a newsletter on my forex blog : Ultimate Forex Review Blog and for the moment, there's only 165 subscribers... However, it seems like my email marketing strategy is pure "crap"... Indeed, I almost have had no sales from it ! Honestly, I really don't see what I'm doing wrong... Between each email I send with an affiliate link, there are at least 5 emails giving free tips, or free methods, brief, free stuff which is really valuable ! And I think that I'm giving good stuff to my subscribers but actually I've got terrible results ! Here's what my email plan looks like : there's about 35 follow ups which are sent around every 6-7 days and I also send few immediat emails... I don't know how you you're going to help me, but here's the situation ! Cheers, Samuel. |

There could be many problems, not the least of which is do these people have money to spend and do you have a product that they're willing to spend it on. A lot of times, it's the initial list building phase that's flawed. Maybe they're looking for freebies. Maybe you're giving away too much info. Maybe the info you're giving is crap. Maybe the product is crap. Ultimately, you have to build a relationship with your list. But aside from all that...a list of 165 subscribers is peanuts. You can't tell anything from a list that size unless these are super hungry buyers. |

If you built the list giving away an ebook or some such, you have "incentivized" subscribers, which are generally less responsive than non-incentivized for a variety of reasons. Self-selected and transactional subscribers are much more responsive. Mailing's a volume game in any case, the dismal science of mailing works out that for any given mailing, some percentage will open, a percentage of those will click, a percentage of those will convert. Let's say you have a reasonable 20% open rate on your 165, that's 33 folks, let's say your CTO is a whopping 30%, that's 10 folks, lets say your conversion rate is 10%, that's one folk, so your results are about in line with par performance for that kind of list. The solution is more subscribers, if your metrics are about what's above 1000 subscribers would net you 10-ish conversions per mailing. |

One thing I would definitely agree with is if you have only 165 subscribers, you're open rate even if better than average, will still only produce 10 or 15 people who even see the offer. When the numbers are that small, success ratios and such go out the window, unfortunately. |

I agree unless your in a unique niche that converts at amazing rate 165 is a very small list. I would carry on as you are and be a little more patient. I do get better results though when i email out every four days though rather than 6-7. kind regards sam X |

Hi. We have been just getting into the forex niche and notcied that conversion rates are high. What i would advise is that instead of giving them freebies, mail out products consistantly, everytime they open up a message from you they are already going to click because there conditioned to check for the product. If you have built a list from freebies send them to as many sales pages as possible and offer no more freebies im sure you will see a higher sales conversion. you will lose the subscribers you don't want and make the most of the ones you have. Kindest Regards Simon PS. If you have a forex list please PM me i have a product for people to promote, high conversions, special bonus for every 100 sold. |

Don't worry about conversions. With a list of 165 you've got much more important things to do... like build your list! You're not even close to having enough people seeing your emails to get any statistically relevant information, so you won't be able to accurately test any changes you make now anyway. Build your list. Build a relationship. You'll soon figure out what's working and what's not. But you need the numbers first. |
