Default Ever get busted selling a PLR ebook?

Just curious. I've come across sales pages for books that I know are PLR, especially because I can find the same sales page somewhere else. They have different prices and sometimes the pages are changed slightly. But it could be especially confusing if you change the title of the book.

Has anyone ever complained that they purchased the book somewhere else?

Love,
Shannon

That's why, if you choose to use PLR, it should be rewritten and made your own.

Most people will take it, put their name on it, maybe change the title and put it up for sale. That might be fine if all you're after is quick sales. For customer retention and long-term business development, you need to give them something of value. The PLR book may offer value, but if it's something they've already purchased elsewhere, it doesn't give value to that particular customer. However, if you've added to it and improved on what you started with, then you better the odds that you'll provide them with new information. Then, instead of thinking you're just like the "other guy" that sold them the book, they'll think you're better than the "other guy" because your version had more value.

Then, the next time they see two similar books, whose book do you think they'll buy: the "other guy's" or yours?

I'd be willing to bet that this doesn't happen too often.

As stated, most people will never do anything with the PLR and the internet is a pretty big place so the odds of one person buying the same book from two different vendors, I think to be slim.

That being said, Dan has a good point about adding value to it.

Funny thing is i had a similar issue recently.

someone that just so happened to me a subscriber bought one of my regular offers which was a plr ebook that i had the rights to sell plr from.

He told me i was a fraudster copying someone elses work and he was a lawyer and was going to sue. He was american but his spelling was so bad there was no way he was a lawyer.

I sent him a polite reply stating that i had the rights etc and i never heard from him again!

kind regards

sam
