Do you require the permission of a clickbank vendor to do this?

I posted a thread asking if it was ok to bypass their sales page for a sales page of my own, and I understand that I need their permission to do this. But what about having an opt in form on a landing page? Is this the same thing, and does it require specific permission from the vendor?

If I'm understanding your question right, you can drive traffic to your own page (be it a squeeze page, blog, presell landing page, etc...) - with no real permissions needed (but to be safe read the affiliate agreement terms of what you canor cannot do)

The hard part is if the hoplink you use redirects them to the seller's landing page and it requires them to optin again... I'd avoid doing that, especially if you just had them optin to your email list moments before. You will likely turn a potential buyer off by making them jump through too many hoops. Top sellers often offer different landing page options for this purpose.

If all else fails, get them on your email list (optin) and either use the venders prewritten email sequence (many vendors supply them with your link embedded) or be patient... And send them somr free info and a link to the sellers page after you presell them with relevant information over time.

Setting up your first sales funnel can be overwhelming... Just build your list with a freebie/give a way...be patient, give more value via your emails... Then include an occassional link to a product page.

If you just start blasting pushy emails to an affiliates salespages...you prob won't see much success. This is why alot ofpeople say create your own products.

this is my problem, I'm lacking in so much of the relevant basics to even know what this means. What is and where can I read up on those "vendor email sequences", I haven't the slightest clue what that means. At any rate I'm off to google. sigh

Does this relate to php and the vendor id's? I have a basic enough understanding of php and scripting in general. nothing advanced, I've learned from watching countless tutorials on doing numerous things with php - so i understand how things generally operate.

The problem is, since i'm not really being taught all the prerequisite stuff in these videos, I can't ultimately build or use the implements I need (relating to tracking). The solution would be to have someone knowledgeable give me initial guidance and explain things to me in lay terms and relate it all to my level of understanding. But again, I don't have the competence to even do that it seems.

I'm a quick learner, just not competent when it comes to basic tasks, like seeking out the information, or if need be put it all in proper order so that I can attain the needed level of knowledge. The public schooling system has reared my brain to be dependent upon spoon fed curriculums for learning. Despite being an honor student all throughout highschool, I'm a complete incompetent petulant mess in the real world.

Ya, I admit it, I need my damn hand held to certain extents, the problem is I don't have anyone's hand to hold!

Anyways, end of digression and rant.

    vendor email sequences
A series of pre-written email follow-ups provided by product owners for affiliates for use in promoting their products. You load them into your autoresponder and code them with your affiliate link. You send them to people after they opt-in to your squeeze page.

    Here's an example:

    What you will need:

    #1 A squeeze page
#2 A OTO (one time offer) page
    #3 A freebie thank/download page
#4 A "register your purchase" page for one time offer buyers
    #5 A paid product thank/download page

There are many different ways you can set this up.

And that isn't considered unethical or stealing? Or against any rules?

You could possibly get a copy of the product you are promoting and offer a free report that might contain similar information as well as a short excerpt or two as a teaser. This free gift could be a lure to get others interested in the real product to give you their email address. Then, an email campaign with links to the product are in order.

Additionally, I would try to keep your domain name and product name a little more generic than the primary product you want to promote in case something changes. I have heard of a few CB product owners who changed their product page to a forwarding page with their affiliate link to a different product. They take advantage of the affiliates links still promoting their dead products.

If your domain name and free product name are generic enough, you might even eventually replace the "affiliate" site to a site promoting your own product to take advantage of all the incoming traffic.
