My head has been spinning lately! I have only about 2-3 hours a day to work on my network marketing and I am having problems figuring out the best way to manage my time. Right now I am still taking in and learning new marketing techniques everyday and somedays I find myself only learning and not actually doing any marketing. I was wondering if anyone had some good suggestions as to how they manage their time effectively when it comes to internet marketing!

    1. Compartmentalize your tasks in time and be strict with your schedule. Write it out.

    2. Make sure whatever you're doing is real work and not preparing to work or straightening up your desk.

Sorry to be so laconic. That's basically what I do.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I've had this before, but uninstalled it for some reason. Then, I couldn't remember the name of it when I wanted it again. I spend 30 min on Google searching for the damn thing!

        Max,

I did the same exact thing. I had it, then got rid of it and then needed it again. After searching for DAYS, I finally found it!

Hey Kendra a good approach for you from what I am reading above would be to go through a product and as soon as you find something that you can go out and do take action on that, then go back to the product learn more and take action on the next thing you find that is helpful for you...

I personally managed my time issue by building my business around email list, this way you don't have to continually work at getting new customers (at least not as hard) and you can market to them your products, by building a relationship with them through email.

Come up with a plan for the week and decide on 1 or 2 things to do for each day of the coming week - planning is very important

I would say make a list of daily things to do, and set due dates to perojects. And stick to your daily sched, unless there is a fire. Because missing one day of work could pile up and before you know, you have a mountain work load on the weekend, when supposedly you are relaxing.

ONe of the best solutions I have learned and that I can pass on is:

    1. Add the amount of money you make at your job AND IM
    2. Divide by the hours you spend on each and write down your hourly rate (this is what your time is worth)
    3. Any project that you can outsource that costs LESS than that rate, outource it.

This will help you focus on things that allow you to make the money you need to. If you are spending valuable time doing something that you could outsource for $10/hour, but you make $20, OUTSOURCE IT!

Good luck! (just so you know, I run 4 businesses and secure a 6 figure income using this system...AND i have two small kids, workout twice a day, still lead my Chamber of Commerce in new memberships, several years running...so leveraging your time DOES work!)

    1. Set a goal/deadline for the month
    2. Break the goal into a weekly time frame
    3. Schedule each week into a daily schedule
    4. Stay strict to your schedule

You could set aside certain days to learn theory, and other days to put those theories into practice. Or, set a whole week to study theory, then set another entire week to put that theory into practice.

Setting your goals and building a planned time line around that goal will help you tremendously... given that you keep to the schedule

  • Thanks for the link to Rescue TIme, I'm going to check it out.

My best time management is not really a tip but more of a mindset:

"Stop thinking about it and just do it"

I found that I'd get SEVERE "analysis paralysis" over-thinking almost each aspect of a project I wanted to work on and would find myself wasting hours of precious time mulling over the pros and cons to each step. While planning is important, I really believe that making the leap from planning to acting is the most effective time-saver I've ever come to realize.

    Hey Kendra,

    1. Get on schedule and set deadlines.
    2. Write down your task in a to do list
    3. When you are working, turn off emails, phones, faxes-that way no distractions can hold you back.

I find this difficult as I will start to work on a task and then find myself browsing the net and wasting time- what helps for me is to set myself a certain tasks, say, write three articles, and allow myself a small reward after I have finished, such as a cup of coffee and 10 minutes on here.

Weekly and daily plans help too, it's quite satisfying crossing tasks off the list!

Making a to-do list is probably the best thing you can ever do for time management.

Also, read "The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People." Working on tasks that are important, but not necessarily urgent will help you make the most of your limited time.

    Hope this helps!

Rescue time is also suitable for you.
Anyway two important tips are here.

Separate Your Business Hours: You need to be serious when you are working in internet home business. Make a separate room for your home business office where you should not allow any distraction while you work to build your business. Keep all the distractions out. Tell your family you should not be disturbed.

Organize Yourself, Organize Your Business:You should keep all your referencing material at one place in an organized manner. Arrange your things on computer also. This helps in easy retrieval and save a lot of time.

    Kendra,

Recently i bought some scripts from Incansoft team - Big Mike is a warrior - and the daily hour i had to submit url's to social sites and Rss feeds it's now an automated task that saves me 7 hours per week, easily.

See what you can automate, and focus those hours in other tasks.
