What to do if my WSO is not 100% "Newbie Friendly"?

Hi Warriors! I'm currently working on a new WSO that is scheduled to launch in a few weeks. My concern is that it is a bit more advanced (requires some technical skills) and not 100% newbie-friendly....how would you suggest I indicate this on my sales page? I don't want to mislead anyone...

Why not partner up with someone who will offer their WSO (that fills in the blanks for newbies) as a 'bonus' product for yours?

    That way, everyone wins.

You can be specific on your sales page that this is aimed at more advanced IM'ers... yet include the fact that even if you're a newbie, you have them covered with your bonus package.

Many, if not most WSO owners would be happy to offer their WSO as a free bonus for your offer - you win, they win (more *buyers* on their list), and the customer wins.

I suggest including among the sales copy two little lists of bullet points, once headed "Who should buy this?" and the other "Who shouldn't buy this?"

In the latter section, you can perhaps include something like "People with no technical skills at all".

In the former section, you might include something like "People who already know how to <whatever-the-required-skill-is>".

I like that idea but unfortunately, it doesn't really apply to what I'm doing. A lot of my WSO revolves around HTML/CSS so in order to make it newbie-friendly, I would have to offer an entire course on learning how to code.

        Thank you!
Also, whilst a good idea to partner, a great business partnership is not an easy thing to establish.
Nor should it be because you want to make sure there is and alignment of chemistry, philosophical/ethical outlook, and honesty.

Entire courses on the basics of HTML/CSS exist over at W3Schools.com for free.

I like Alexa's idea of bullet points, but have dealt with people who do not know how much they do not know, so ... For your advanced methods, pointing to links at W3Schools.com which could be consumed as prerequisites to your material may be an option.

I guess this can be your answer..

Why don't you offering your other WSOs on learning how to code as a bonus?

Doing this way, your customers can learn from the basic stuffs with your bonus and you can basically set the price a little bit higher because of these two things:
        1. You provide more value to your customers with your bonus courses
        2. Only serious people will jump to purchase your next WSO

I'm sure it will also reduce your refund rates

        Best,
        Jeffry

I would encourage you to do just that or provide a shortcut method using tools that make it easier. Html and CSS is not that hard and many experienced/advanced marketers still don 't know how to code so you will be turning away many eye balls. Unless you have JVs or a large affiliate base for your launch you need to keep as many eye balls considering your offer as you can or your WSO results may disappoint you..

I agree with Alexa or similar on the lines of a questions and answer section on your sales copy before you go live with bullet points what you would think people will ask when inquiring about the product and then get ready to answer any questions when product goes live and if you think it may not be suitable for somebody when they ask a question tell them so, be as honest as you can as it's better then getting refunds.

I usually hang out in other parts of the forum. From what I hear about WSO's, refreshing honesty is needed.

Break down the skills needed. This WSO isn't for you if you can't do - or can't afford to hire
someone - to do the following:
    1)
    2)
    3)
    4)

you could list the "prequesteries" on your sales thread and include a free tutorial for each one for people who aren't up to date

Be honest! Not every online method or program has to be "newbie friendly".

Good news is not all the members of WF are newbies.

I am planning on being honest for sure! I was just wondering how I should word it, that's all...Before I started on this WSO, I was even debating on whether or not to put this out there and then it occurred to me - not everyone here is a newbie so just DO IT and see what happens!

I'd be up front with "this WSO is not for everyone" and then list the experience/knowledge and/or skills required to successfully use your product.

This could be part of the sales copy or a second post beneath sales copy with "FAQ" or questions/answers.

Most marketers miss out on sales by trying to sale to 'everyone'.

This is what leads to high refund rates for some products, unnecessary support issues, customer complaints, negative reviews and so many other issues that could have been avoided if you sell to your target market.

That said, you should target your intended audience right from the headline of your ad to your sales letter headlines and body. So many useful suggestions have already been given on how you can do that.

  • Yeah I want to be 100% transparent and I want my sales page to be clear! I think that it's crucial to do this in order to avoid an excessive amount of refunds from people who thought they could handle it and then realized it was beyond their scope of knowledge.

That being said, my WSO isn't rocket science and I don't want to scare everyone away.

Yeah, it's tough to actually understand whether to say a certain thing or not. Try not to scare people away. To do this, explain it in a FAQ section and really indicate that this is not for those who don't know how to code. If coding is a requirement, then be sure to write this down since I'm sure plenty of people here don't exactly know how to code. I think this could be the only issue you'll deal with , but if you have a great product and a good salesletter that really gets in your reader's emotions, it should sell well.

There's no easier way than to just say it!! Put up an honest "WARNING" message saying your product is NOT newbie friendly and lay out what knowledge you already assume and tell them what concepts they'll need to learn first if they're a newbie.

People will appreciate your honesty and your concern for their time.

Just mention any skill required in order to implement your WSO.

You will always find people who lack even the basic online skills. So it's not worth it to go in too much depth in your product only for a few people..

    Cheers,

You have identified a problem that could strengthen your product. Why not build a solution for people who don't have the technical skills.... A plugin / software / cloud base..

Not all WSO's are newbie friendly, the market of experienced marketers is where the money is.

I will tell you a secret : Selling to newbies is much hard to sell to experts

just take action and good luck with your WSO

    Love.

Intermediate to advanced WSO's is exacxtly what this forum needs more of. There are too many re-hashed, reproduction WSO's that do not offer much forward progress, which, what this forum is about (progress)! My two sense!

I might substitute "experienced" for "advanced". There isn't a clear dividing line between "intermediate" and "advanced".

What needs to be said in your copy is:

If you are knew with no experience and no knowledge - this is NOT for you.

Simple way is list "experienced marketers only" and then follow with a short bullet point list of what skills are needed to utilize the offer effectively.

Another way is bluntly say "if you are an IM newbie - this is not for you".

This WSO is not for you if you ask me for a free review copy. LOL

Sometimes this is the best WSO to make, a lot of people get into IM, then get stuck.... Don't worry about not being newbie friendly! As long as you are offering good content, valuable information ...

You can try putting it in pinpoints in your sales page that its more for advance marketers or do a FQA on the sales page letting viewers know it's more advance stuff. You can also offer a beginners version as a bonus to your viewers letting them know in your wso off the top that hey this is more advance marketers stuff if you are beginning check out your bonus first.
