No1 on Google Now Vanished HELP Please

Hi guys,
I am hoping someone here can explain to me whats happening please and also what can I do.

I have been No 1 on Google for about 3 months for a keyword, in fact 3 keywords.

Suddenly out of the blue, the site is no where to be found. So I wrote some articles and one got sent through Article Marketer.

3 Days later back was my website in No I again. Woohoo!! It stayed there for 3 days. In that 3 days I got 3 more articles through AM and got some extra backlinks as well.

Today its gone again. When I say gone. I don't mean like slid down 10 places..........I cant find it in the top 10 pages.

Can anyone please explain to me what is happening and why?? ( I understand that things are always changing and better websites come along) What I don't understand is how it can vanish off the face of the earth like this!

I do not have any answer for this other than "it happens." My site for my own product was ranked number one for a long time, then it dropped off completely all together... it was not even indexed for like a week. Then it came back at number one. Now it is down to like 7 or 8.

I have no idea why it happens, but I think if you continue to build links to it, it will keep it's spot overall.
