Default Need a reality check...should I go into the self improvement niche?

Along with the intricacies of internet marketing and 'excitement' of web development (for me), self improvement is a great passion of mine.

I've studied and practiced many many self improvement techniques and committed myself to lifelong learning and development. In fact, if I'd approached internet marketing and online business with the same enthusiasm and dedication I have with self improvement, I would no doubt be a millionaire by now. The constant desire to develop every aspect of myself courses through every vein in my oh so slim body.

I would love nothing more than to be able to make a living within this niche.

BUT, from the last two days of research, I haven't seen many *information products* within this niche. Does it sell? Instead, it seems to be dominated by binaural beats and 'systems'. I may be looking in the wrong place or not hard enough, I don't know..?

Anyway, I was hoping somebody within this niche or who has experience in this niche would care to offer some advice.

My initial intention is to produce a short, quality report within a certain sub-niche and start building my list while working on an ebook, which I will later develop into a course.

Any input?

Much appreciated.

Tony Robbins. Wayne Dyer. Brian Tracy.

All made their fortunes in self help and self improvement.

So the market is there - and its a huge market. But its a difficult market to become #1 at without a new twist.

Thats why we see off-shoots like life hacking and lifestyle designing niches popping up. Essentially those are similar topics too.

Hi Damien, I also share your enthusiasm for the self improvement niche. I've found a few sub-niches which I'm currently developing products for. My advice is don't follow what others are doing. Instead find a sub-niche that has been overlooked. Also, be sure to check out Google's keyword tool to make sure there is enough interest. Trust me, there are many untapped ideas still waiting to be cashed in on.

Good luck!

This is my niche, and I can assure you it is huge.

People are always looking to improve themselves.

I have had several products at #1 at Clickbank.

The PDF version of my book is being promoted by 20,000 affiliates.

If you are passionate about self-improvement just do it. But always keep things in perspective.

Your motivation is to help people and make the world a better place - not to take money off people they may not have.

75% of my time is devoted to helping people all over the world, freely and gladly, the other 25% of my time is for IM.

Once you are in self-improvement you have a huge responsibility.

People always must come first, and money a distant second, but it is through giving that we receive.

In self-improvement you are involved with the lives of real people who trust you. Can you handle that responsibility and do you have the necessary knowledge and experience?

If not - don't do it. It is a passion and Service, not just a way of making a living from others who may have no living.

There is nothing more rewarding than making a big difference in the lives of others, and making the World a better place, but that must always be your primary motivation.

You're absolutely right! I share the exact sentiments.

I am a very giving person - my whole life revolves around this ultimate goal of being in such a financial situation I can help masses of people. I know money doesn't solve everything, but it helps a LOT!

Sadly, I also have to view this as a business venture and so I do have my entrepreneur cap on when determining the viability of earning a living from this.

I would be privileged to have people trust me and allow me a position to make a REAL difference in their lives.

Why are you asking us?

You have the answer inside you.

If a majority of people say no...are you not going to go into a profitable niche which you say you have a passion for.

I understand you want to hedge your bets but your asking questions that only you can answer.
