Facebook / Twitter or Adwords?

Hello people,

First of all I'm really glad to join these boards, people seem genuinely interesting and many of you guys sure have many years of experience in the marketing area.

I have an online forum about an artist that I've just created and I want to know the way to target the "fans" of that artist. Facebook or Twitter or Adwords?

Any suggestions, experiences or helps would be greatly welcomed

    Well, if you know the Facebook page of that artist, then you can use Facebook custom audience targeting to target those page fans. And, incase you don't know how to create custom audience, you can refer to the below Facebook resource.

    How do I create a Custom Audience?

      I have a question though, let's say I have a 1k$ budget, how many people in average do you think that'll get me? I just need a rough approximation because Facebook tells me that I will reach 26 million people but that's a "marketing lie", it's just the number of people that could potentially be interested in my product based on my criterias.

      Can I safely say 1k$ = 200 members? Or is it too much hope?

        Well, I can't say you in exact/close numbers. You need to start an ad campaign and test it yourself, so that you can get a clear idea bout it.

        Probably, Yes! I don't think it's too much hope. If you can make your ad campaign very targeted and specific, you can get quite good ROI.

          I'd recommend fb traffic for what you are doing. You could create a fan page around the artist, get likes for pennies a click, then funnel those people to your forum.

          Or go direct from ad straight to your forum.

          As far as how many sign ups and what price range. Every niche / ad / offer is going to be different. Also comes down to how compelling your forum is (is it paid? is it free? do you have a good video / sales letter to encourage people to sign up or you just want to send them straight to the forum and hope for the best?

          Start small. Test small. see what kind of results you get.. then scale if you're happy with it.


          If you're not sure how to do FB ads.. Brian Moran (Get 10,000 Fans), Jon Loomer, Curt Maley, and Ryan Shaw all have pretty good courses to help get you started.

            Great that just gave me a very good idea, thank you very much for that post

            I was gonna send people straight from ads to the home page and hope they get hooked, but them landing on an appealing page would probably get them hooked easily. As people landing on a home page are likely gonna leave it when they see few posts and no person online.

    You're best bet: learn how to grow traffic platforms on social networks. When you have the traffic, you don't need to pay for it.

      Added, the forum is brand new, but I'm not gonna discourage myself by that
