Relatiionships and partnerships with Rivals in your Niche

Ok, I don't get this one thing.. How do you start relationships with people in your niche which are your rivals. Seeing Eben Pagan, Frank Kern, Mike Filsaime etc. communicate you can see that they don't view themselves as rivals although they are. I'm asking cuz it is interesting and I wouldn't mind partnering with others eventually!

Cheers

Yeah this is interesting. I have often thought the same thing. Some guys also say "crush the competition". I think it's about being the better man whilst maintaining that mutual respect. If you get any of the leading people of their professions whether it's sport, actors, retail etc you never see them acting aggressively or jealous of their competitors. They better themselves.

I too would also like some enlightenment...

Yeah, I guess that's true. I probably have the wrong mindset. that's why I wonder.. I want to learn how to befriend them and become partners!

If you view other people in your niche as rivals, you are operating from a position of fear, and need.

Recognise there is room for all, and you may even find you can work or partner with some of them.

Build empires relationships, not from fear.

If you look closely at these partnerships, you'll see that they are not really rivals at all. They work in the same market, but have different angles - Frank Kern with Mass Control teaches how to write effective sales copy, Mike Filsame with Butterfly marketing shows how to use membership sites to build a list.

I could be a bit off with what they actually do, but I think you can see the point. They don't compete with one another, they compliment one another.

It's not just about having an abundance or scarcity mindset - it's about finding products / people that compliment you and your products, and forming partnerships to help one another.

Sometimes it's easier to see in other markets. You might see a car manufacturer and a tire manufacturer working together - advertising together, or sponsoring something together - doing what they can to help the other one's business. They are after the same larger market - drivers - but they don't compete, they compliment.

Everyone teaches how to build a list though for example.. It definitely makes sense to partner with complimentary businesses. I will do that
I now see two rivals in my niche like Vince DelMonte and Lee Hayward partnering up.

I wish I could remember where I read it....Maybe in a rich schefron guide about the reason that info products blew up so big in america vs Europe was that in america people were much more open to partnerships which constantly fed the machine as opposed to europe where people were stingy with promotion and slowly killed their own business....

I'll have to find it, it was pretty interesting

The unspoken alliances cause everybody's lists to be used to grow each other's lists just as Michael Masterson explained why the newsletter companies in the states grew exponentially while their European counterparts flat-lined.

To see the context refer to page 29 of his Final Chapter pdf....It's free online...All very good reads.
