Why does website outlook say I get 50 visits(or pagviews) a day when I haven't even got content?

I was just interested to see if it was registered and it is. But If I have got traffic (if it's accurate) I have no idea why or where it's coming from!
Does anyone know why?

    I'm not sure what you are using to track your visitors but it could be from your entries into your page. If you don't block your IP address some programs count that.

    Take a look at the server logs or the site statistics. Look up the IP addresses of the sites that visited, and then you'll know where the visits came from.

    Or, copy/paste some of the server stats here, and it would be easier to answer your question.

      Was the domain name you're using on your site previously registered? You could be getting residual traffic from whoever had it before.

      There are all sorts of bots that scour the Internet looking for eMail addresses, vulnerable sites, etc. so they could be finding you.

      Is your domain name a common word or phrase? You could be getting type-in traffic. You could also be getting traffic from people who wanted to register your domain name, and, upon finding out it wasn't available, went to scope out who had it and what they were doing with it.

      It could be crawlers visiting your site to see if you added any content.

      There are plenty of possibilities for small amounts of traffic showing up on a content-less website.
