Default I want to put blog on my site

I want to put blog on my site and wondering if you guys have any prefference as to which one I should put. My hosting company supports wordpress. I am thinking either wordpress or blogger. Any pros and cons?

Wordpress. No contest.

Pop over to Wordpress.org and look at the amount of stuff that's available. That's without searching for other plug-ins and themes. Just about whatever you can think of, you can do with Wordpress.

Blogger is more like a starter blog for people that have not sprung for their own hosting account yet.

WP has tons more flexibility etc.

I suspect that if your hosting company supports Wordpress (you mean presumably that they offer a one-click installation through C-panel?) that must be a plus. Other Wordpress pluses are that there are more plugins available, greater technical specification and flexibility and more information and support available when it's needed. The downside is that it's obviously far harder to learn and use than Blogger is, no comparison at all (if this doesn't matter to you, I'd suggest Wordpress may be your better choice). There are more add-ons available for it and doubtless will continue to be, too.

Blogger's cleaner and far easier and quicker but I think when you self-host it you still have to use their site to compose posts and transfer them there. Many affiliate and commercial bloggers use self-hosted Blogger (and you can take away the "Blogspot bar" from the top of the pages if you do that).

There's a lot of information online about both, including unfortunately some misinformation too.

Three book recommendations (not affiliate links) - I believe all of these contain far more, much better, and much more accurate and reliable information than you can find anywhere online:-

Blogger For DummiesBlogger For Dummies (I haven't read this one, myself, have just heard very good things about it)

Because Blogger is owned by Google, a Blogger blog is almost instantly indexed when it is activated.

Wordpress all the way. I considered Blogger, but like someone else said.. it's great for beginners who are not hosting their own blogs on their server.

Even then I think Wordpress has better stats (for non self-hosted sites) and it does take care of SEO. Within 1 day of installing a blog on my server.. it was picked up by Google
