Do you use all you have to market?

I've been using this video ranking tool to help rank videos on YouTube. Not all of my videos relate to my biz. My theory behind this is: I might relate to someone who is not in the internet biz world and may resonate with me, check out my other videos on my channel about my internet biz and say, "hey I want to try that too!"

Give me your thoughts and that strategy....Thanks

Many others are doing this and although I can't give statistics it seems to be working for some of them.

I know when I personally see a video I like with an individual, I will do a search on Youtube for more videos from this person.

Anything you can do to promote your Internet business is a good thing. But you have to ask yourself, "can I use my time and resources more effectively?"

I'm talking about the good - better - best principle. In marketing, we should ultimately try to find the best tactics and approaches, the best uses of our time, the best places to market, and the best strategies to grow our business.

Doing the good things is what some people are comfortable doing . . . but they may be doing it despite better and even best alternatives that could really push their business forward.

The best to all of you,

Very much agree with this. I imagine that most of us here are understaffed and under-resourced -- especially compared to the multi-billion dollar companies we're competing with whether we like it or not (even if not directly). When a business has 10,000 employees, it's not as important that everything everyone does be the "best" use of their time, but when you're a small team -- or work alone -- it's crucial. So while I can see some side benefits of your approach, it really doesn't seem like the fantastic use of your time. It's a lot of work for probably very little return.

That said, if you're going to make those other videos anyway (for instance if it's a hobby that you enjoy for reasons other than for your online business), it certainly doesn't hurt to do what you're doing, and as has been noted, it may even help you. But to me it falls more into the category of talking about your business in the grocery checkout line rather than a serious business growth strategy. If you strike up a conversation at the store and someone asks you what you do, of course you'll tell them about your business. But it most certainly wouldn't make sense to go from store to store in the hopes of talking to more people while in line.
