Default What's the worth of a traffic exchange of 10,000 members?

I have a traffic exchange and currently it stands at 10,000 members.

It's pretty active exchange. I have an average of 3-7 new sign ups everyday.

This exchange is so active, I need a semi-dedicated server to keep up the traffic being exchanged.

So far, I haven't got to monetize this list of members.

If I want to sell it, what do you think is the worth of this site?

Where does the traffic come from? Why do they sign up in the first place?

Big difference between 10k people in a certain niche and just 10k people... An even bigger difference between 10k freebie seekers and a buyer list of 10k.

Shoot me a PM about it, if you're interested in selling and I think the traffic can be monetized we may be able to come to an agreement.

Quite frankly, I don't even know where they sign up from. My only guess is that I participated in some traffic exchange members exchange program 3 years ago and it's still working.

Yes, I know that 10k free guys is not worth and I'm not banking on the worth of 10k members.

I'm banking on the worth of the amount of traffic being exchanged everyday.

So, what do you think is the worth? $1k? $2k?

It would depend on several factors. Probably the biggest factor is how many of those 10,000 members are legit members vs. bots that automatically sign up.

Then it would be important to know how much traffic is generated, as well as where the sign ups come from (if you don't know, almost any web statistics program -- most hosts come with one -- should be able to tell you where traffic to your sign up page is coming from.

Also, the functionality of the script would be a factor too. Can you e-mail the exchange members? Can you sell one time offers on it? How much control do you have of the exchange? How hard is it to eliminate unauthorized sites (like porn sites and so forth) from your exchange? For the members, do you have their names and e-mails or nothing at all?

Etc.

I'd say the price could range from $100 to potentially $500 to $2k or more depending on several factors and what you can show (for instance, if you can e-mail that list and show that out of 10,000 members, you got 300 clicks, that'd be worth more than if it only generated 20 clicks).

Interesting prospect. I agree with both Scott & Brian the important factors are What are you allowed to do with the the members? Plus How the members arrived there? If the members arrived via a free offer then maybe that is all they are looking for in the future.

Joseph, you are sitting on a freaking gold mine and don't even realize it.

People who sign up for traffic exchanges are looking for traffic, PERIOD.

There are so many ways you could monetize this with little work.

Offer "views" packages so dirt cheap that these people would be crazy to
turn them down.

Pitch traffic generation products to them.

I wish I had started a TE years ago when it was easy to do it.

Ask Jon Olson at this very forum. He'll tell you how much you can make
from them.
