hmmm i just checked my google positions on one of my niches and it has dropped from 6 to NOWERE for a certain keyword, but it has now risen from 30 to 14 for a better keyword.. very interesting, is this normal i have not really been doing much with the site, but i notice some more competition has moved in recently, any ideas? I mean such a large sift over a period of 1 day is pritty rare? This shift happend just over 24ish hours.

google does that sometimes. Move your cursor over the "cached" link of your site's listing in the search results and and check IP address at the bootom of your browser. Google sometimes switches those around. DIfferent datacenters etc.
