Hi;

1 - Would it be a better idea to have video in opt in page?
2 - Which one converts more:
a) After they opt in I show them a video and a link to $7 product, if proceed upsell a $99 product
b) After they opt in I show them a thank you page and email them a link to $7 product, if they open the link from their email I take them to $7 product page, if proceed upsell a $99 product.
Thanks

My first impression is that the page looks very bland. There is no picture and not much color. I also do not like the font used.

Also the items offered do not jump out at me as something that is real appealing. Perhaps if you portrayed it as a "special report" or some type of kit or program, not just"what I have for you" - that's my feedback, Best of luck to you.

I am the opposite of above, I liked the fact that it doesn't look spammy, and no photo and lots of bla bla, which is different than most of optins
    The font is awesome man.
Go for this and do your split testing with other optins

You can know only by testing, I think.

For me, it would be an unmitigated disaster, because my traffic demographics (as I know from subscriber feedback) hate video. And are far from alone: http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...o-content.html

You can know only by testing, I think: there's no reason at all to expect that other people's experience of testing this (and/or very similar things) would be the same in their business as your findings, in your business. The answers to all these questions depend on several variables, including the traffic demographics, the niche, and so on.

I wouldn't want to do this, myself.

I used to do something similar, and it cost me a lot of money.

I suspect there's quite a bit of misguided thinking about, on this subject.

It's worth bearing in mind that it's possible to make the occasional quick sale that way and still lose a lot of money overall.

Here's the key concept: the few people who will buy anything, that way, are all people who would have bought it in a week's time anyway, after receiving some email from you, so there's no real gain. But many other people, who would otherwise have bought it a week or two later, will be alienated by it, because of course it makes you look like "just another marketer", so if I did that, I'd expect a much lower open-rate for my emails than I actually get.

Right after the opt-in, I promote nothing. For me, it would be a big mistake to do that. Again, you'll need to test it, to find out whether that's also true for your own business.

Jumping from a $7 to a $99, "in one run," is bad marketing. There's just too much of a difference in price to make it worthwhile. Maybe if the second product was something like $27, $37 or even $47. But straight to a purchase of almost $100? Not a good idea. You need to build some trust before you can hit them up with such an offer.

Don't listen to this guy, I made $500 sales all the way up $1,000 without any type of "trust building" besides what I wrote in my copy.

If you're selling something that people expect to pay that much and catch them right at the end of the buying cycle, then of course you don't need to build trust. But if you're running a hobby website, like a fishing one, then chances are they're not interested in a $500 right away.

I'm sorry but where is the link to the page you are talking about? I feel stupid but can't see it anywhere in thread.

There isn't one. I suspect that it was removed either by a moderator or possibly by the OP in response to advice received, because links to your own site aren't actually allowed in the Main Marketing Forum. Strictly speaking, the original post should have been posted either in the Conversion-Rate Optimzation Forum or the Copywriting Forum.
