Internet Marketing Strategies For My Small Business

Hey Warriors,

In the last 6 months i am making a constant income from Web services working together with 2 partners (web site creation, SEO, fixing web site bugs etc..) But most of the time we create websites.

So we decided to make the next step and create our own web service product, create a website with our portfolio and present our services. This way we can become more official and can gain more clients.

I decided to work more on the Internet Marketing side, but still can't establish a good internet marketing plan for this kind of services, although most business owners need a website. So, clients we can reach at are enough out there...but which would be some of the best effective methods from your point of view? How should we start our Marketing journey?

Is there a possibility to hire a Marketing Consultant for this?

Thanks!

I would say scale up whatever you were doing, if possible. And funnel those customers to your website and keep them coming back. It has to be a very competitive market, I'd assume.

I would also say, depending on your location, that offline marketing could be extremely effective. I'm not by any means an expert web developer. But, I was at a new restauraunt about four months ago and got to talking to the owner and his wife about the business. location, marketing, etc. I noticed that their menus, to-go menus, and sign didn't have a website URL and asked him about it. He said he didn't have a site but he got a quote that was a couple of thousands of dollars. That night, I got to looking around and saw the domain name of his restaurant wasn't even registered. So, I registered it and put up a simple wordpress site with the restaurant info, menu, etc. Took it back to him and he offered me $1000 for it and we talked about ongoing marketing on other platforms and Google. I could have easily made a couple hundred bucks a month off of him if I had wanted to. But, I ended up pointing him to some of the people I use who I'd consider experts in web development and online marketing.

Long story short, for a lot of people there's opportunity right under their nose. They just don't see it or don't take action on it for some reason. A lot of business owners don't know what they need or could have until you show it to them.

For me, the first customers are the hardest. Often when launching a new software product or website development platform, you have to spend many hours to make sure those first customers are happy, and they will tell you what you need to improve.

  • Just for a quick clarification, I wouldn't really say that most businesses are in need of a website. In fact, almost every business owner has a website, but it is the SEO, mobile design, and other forms of marketing and traffic generation that they are beginning to lack.

I recommend hiring cold calling agents, but don't do so unless you're willing to really spend time working with them via Skype calls or conference calls so that you are all on the same page. Also, they should be in sales already, and they should have some kind of experience. With the vast array of people in the world in need of jobs, there are people out there willing to do the telemarketing work for you, believe it or not. Am I saying this is the only way to go? Definitely not.

A lot of offline marketers are really struggling to get those clients and getting those business owners interested in them, and this is why I highly recommend reeling clients in whether it be cold calling, emailing, or contacting them through Facebook, Twitter, or even linkedin. Networking pays a huge role in the world of offline business owners.

Getting their attention is hard, so be heard by them. Snail mail has worked great for a ton of marketers, and a lot of people are finding success with all kinds of marketing schemes. Getting those first few clients to help you make that consistent 4 figure income is the hardest part, but once you have those clients and you keep them on a monthly retainer for as long as possible, you wouldn't even worry about the next clients, because you'll end up getting referral after referral.

It is in these referrals where you finally rake in the big bucks with additional clientele.
