Can you trust the sellers on Fiverr?

For me the Fiverr experience has been 100% positive. I think its a great platform to get your work outsourced in just $ 5.
You may have had bad luck with the guy on Fiverr who delivered your work. But there are definitely serious workers on Fiverr.
I personally feel that you should not be disappointed with your bad experience on Fiverr. You my try using the platform with a different seller who of course has a good ratings.

There are so many types of offers with different people, so its not the problem from fiverr, but from your seller. The person may made accounts by himself providing fake emails and data,

Yes I understand it's the seller and not Fiverr but I'm wondering how many scammers are on there. David here seems to think they are only in the SEO/ traffic section and you can't trust those particular sellers but I'm wondering if that's the case with all of them. I don't see why someone can't provide legitimate traffic or users to someone. But what do I know I'm not as experienced as some of you.

you cant buy traffic on fiverr. those gigs are for blackhat tactics not for people using white hat methods.

things like buying traffic, likes, video views....that sorta stuff works for the blackhat folks. thats why those gigs exist and have positive reviews for the most part.

but you can get lots of stuff done on fiverr for cheap. i get simple graphic work done all the time. sometimes stuff i could do, but would take me time because i aint that great with photoshop. i can't even make fake CB and paypal earnings screenshots...lol

sometimes some simple php stuff that doesnt really need a full developer.

you just gotta learn what you can buy there.

If you can find a better way, try not to use fiverr. Fiverr has many fake offers, however there are good gigs too. It really depends on your required gigs . For example facebook likes are all fake and unreliable.

this will depend on what are you buying, If you want to get a logo or a video, then yes. if you want to buy sign ups and likes then... you should know that this is a marketing job, this requires that the seller will promote your service in websites, forums, social networks... and of course you will find some who will use a script to give you fake sign ups, visits or like. the thing that you are demanding is risky itself. so don't look for people who offr xxx number of sign ups or this kind of, but for people who offer to promote your site on youtube, famous facebook pages, forums and so on. and this is the best way to promote your website.
look for quality not quantity.

I personally am a seller on Fiverr and must say that there are some bad guys out there who ty to make a quick buck. Also, Fiver is not always cheaper. I actually just recently ordered an article on Fiverr which cost me $55. I could have gottne that same one on iWriter for $35.

But still, Fiverr is great for things mentioned before, such as articles, logos, videos intros...

Hi. In my experience on Fiverr I've come to know that you can get great deals on articles, video intros, logos, etc...but when it comes to traffic and getting views, twitter followers, likes, etc...it's a crap shoot. In my personal opinion I would shy away from those types of services because they can due more harm than good. There are a lot of good sellers on Fiverr, and I still use them til this day, but I only use them for certain tasks, or projects such as video, logos, articles, and graphics. I hope this helps you out.

Anywhere, offline and online -- Check out the details of the offer. The offer should provide realistic results from the methodological implementation of logical features. For example:

Someone who guarantees hundreds of opt-in signups for $5 most likely has massive lists in different niches, which could have real people, or fake emails, or a combination of these; and

For that offer, $5 is what you pay to test the following things:

a) If their niche mailing lists have real people who are either consistently being pushed offers to sign up to other lists here and there, or who have just signed up to their niche mailing lists that match your niche; or

b) If they just use fake emails; or

c) If they combine the things above, in order to make it more difficult to detect the fakes...

Well, at least it's just $5, and even if you test out say 10 providers 5 times each, carefully monitor your results and sales, then you could end up with a bad or decent or good or excellent $250 experience...

i know all or damn near all the traffic type gigs on fiverr are crap for white hat use.

they can't provide those traffic numbers and such for those prices. thats just simply impossible. You can get honest paid traffic...just not on fiverr for $5.

as far as other marketing or business related type gigs. there are certainly good and bad sellers there just like anywhere else.

i have hired folks on odesk and others for hundreds of dollars and been disappointed. and i have paid 5-100 or so for development work on fiverr and been very please.

i recently hired a developer from a country called togo on there. its a tiny country in affrica. The girl delivered great work and i was very please with my $50 fiverr purchase.

How the person gets traffic for me is really none of my business. I won't deliberately buy "bad" or "blackhat"(whatever that means)traffic but I trust that what they are doing is legit. What I care most about are results and them doing what they say. What and how they do it is out of my hands.

thats what i am trying to explain to you. you bought what most people know are fake signups. the blackhat guys use those to make money. but to white hat marketers, they are completely uselless.

the guy delivered what he said he would...signups. because the signups didnt work out to be usable for what you want to use them for is not his fault really.

I am telling you as someone with loads of experience, all those traffic type of gigs will deliver what they say. but that won't make a white hat marketer a thing. they are fake signups, fake likes, fake views......

and when i say fake, i mean they are not legitimate people he went out and found to have an interest in whatever your site is about. but they are real in that you got signups, likes, views....

To some marketer using some tactics, that does indeed have value.

I understand what you are saying but to me they are beyod fake. They aren't even just people not interested they are not real people. This dude went out his way(imo)to create fake email accounts and fake names. But you seem to be assuming everyone who offers traffic does that and I don't agree. There are a lot of people looking for opportunities online. Some people(the ones you might call who use white hat methods)know how to find them. The others are trying to trick me(us)but only a fool would fall for it. I am going to try one more time with this with someone with a very high rating(five stars). Call me a fool but I will just be using my credit to do it.

It's hard to make generalizations like that on Fiverr. I have had positive experiences overall with providers there, and for the most part they bend over backwards to make you happy -- or they'll just refund your payment because they don't want to take a hit on their rating.

I'd stay away from any guaranteed traffic type of offer. If they promise to send you 5,000 visitors for $5, these visitors are either going to be fake or extremely low quality -- exercise common sense here when it comes to traffic. There is no magic bullet when it comes to traffic; the closest thing that comes to targeted "traffic on demand" whenever you want it is your own list that you've built a relationship with.

A lot of them are. When looking to buy traffic from any source always look for where that traffic is coming from. Google and fb ad sites obviously come from their properties.

But just some random site selling ad packages of gaunteed visitors. Be sure to find out where the visitors are coming from. If there is a real person on the other end and did they intend to visit your site or were they somehow tricked or forced into doing so.

I have purchased about 60 gigs on Fiverr with very few problems. I now always start off with one gig that way you only risk $5. Make sure you read the most current reviews.

I have never had anyone on Fiverr try to rip me off. There have been times that I had to have revisions.Good Luck!

Hi Mike,

It's tough.....on one hand you'll find on the up and up folks on Fiverr but on the other hand, if people are meeting and hiring/offering services for $5 a pop you're bound to run into some chicanery. So much better to make friends with successful, prospering folks, who aren't desperate to make money - and these folks charge MUCH more than $5 a pop

- who'll help you, who'll be honest, authentic and genuine, and then you can work together, prosper one another and help so many folks.

I've seen an 80/20 split for the gigs I've purchased (and I've bought a TON over the years).

From talented graphics designers to programmers to work on my sites, I've connected with a lot of good sellers who i now communicate with off of Fiverr.

But those exceptional gigs have been about 20% of my overall experience.

I just consider that $5 fee to be a low barrier to entry, sort of like testing out different bait in water to see which bait works best to attract better quality fish.

A lot of the gigs have been average quality or lower, but that 20% of above expectation work has made it worth it for me.

The best gigs have been related to programming and graphics though, and I now have a small pool of high quality talent i can pull from whenever i need a solid job done.

I will just quickly chime in and say that while there are bad marketers and businessmen on Fiverr, especially those focused on the IM niche, there are still honest and real marketers who will work with you personally and make sure you get the best service possible. Only the serious people are like this. They are hard to find, but you will get to them if you properly look for them.

I have been using Fiverr for over 2 years now, and I find a lot of value there.

Graphic design, logos, video stingers, and document design have been good things I've found.

I tend to find the likes, views, etc gigs to be at best sketchy, at worst crap.

Many of those providers are outsourcing what they do, and the quality of whatever they are offering is never really that strong.

^ No, I disagree. If someone can do ten gigs for five dollars in an hour that's 50 dollars an hour. Or maybe it only takes them one to five minutes for one gig. That's no reason to not delivery quality. If they are getting paid a lot from a lot of offers they may as well provide quality otherwise they will lose business. So I disagree with your premise. Making just five dollars per gig is no excuse for poor quality or deceitfulness. Heck, I have worked jobs for not much more than five dollars an hour and I still did my best. So should everyone.

Okay....give me your Paypal address and I'll send you $5 right now. And as soon as you receive it, start driving IDEAL CUSTOMERS for my SEO firm. Then let me know how many you have in place after 10 minutes.

One of two things will happen. Either the few contacts you make will be garbage or you won't do anything at all. Because that's all you have time for in 10 minutes.

Now, there are things on Fiver that people can do in ten minutes, sure, but driving in customers, building backlinks or anything in the realm of traffic is going to be garbage. That's just common sense unless the person is in India and willing to give you 2 hours for that five bucks. And even then, the odds of them being an expert are very slim, because they can be charging $60-100 an hour to big firms.

So for traffic, it is impossible to find results on Fiver.

Sorry, but you are very naive if you think a seller on fiverr (for $5) has the secret formula for how to get genuine subscribers and traffic to someone's site lol.

Apparently you don't know how to do it and it's your niche so how do you expect some random on fiverr to know how to do it? And if he did, do you really think he'd be selling that service for $5 ?!

did the seller specifically say they were legit accounts? or did he just say guaranteed sign ups? its important to understand what you are actually buying on fiverr..

I believe sellers on fiverr can be trusted ( I am seen as a trustworthy seller by my clients) , you just need to have due diligence when seeking for people..
