Default sedo.com domain selling site wants credit card info?

I let a domain go a few years ago, when I got back on my feet again I checked out how much the person who bought it wanted for it.
That figure was too much, out of curiosity I checked again and the asking price went down by half.

The domain name is being offered by Sedo.com

during the process of my making an offer Sedo.com is asking for my cc info, presumably to "certify" that I actually have the money to back up a bid offer.

Does anyone know about or has done business with sedo.com?

I'd hate to find out they are in Russia or some country with no treaty with the civilized world or legal world...

can any one vouch for and warn me off sedo.com?

thanks

Hi David,

I've sold a few domains on there - they use escrow. They're a well known site. The majority of parking pages you see are theirs. Put a site on there and view the templates and you'll probably recognise the lady.

You should have a read of their terms before bidding, just so that you are well informed.

SEDO is a very large company with about 200 employees and operates in both the U.S. and Europe. They're a completely legitimate operation. I've bought domains through there and park some with them too.

Tommy.

P.S. - Russia is uncivilised!?

They don't use your CC to see if you have enough money, it's just to see if you are legitimate. They send a charge and cancel it immediately. Kind of like Paypal.
