How do you promote your home biz opp?

Hey all,

There are zillion IM/MMO and other wah/home biz products and services out there. But how to find all those, who want to learn how to make money, work at home, etc.?

I've seen many IM n00bs just going straight to FB groups and spam their brains out, without any success. Others post to reddit, classified sites (sig) and so on.

Those a little more savvy create blogs and landers, and give out some nice freebies, etc.

So, I'd like to ask you what's your way to get new customers / leads in this exciting market?

Thanks!

The best way is to join Internet Marketing Forums like this one that has lots of members and
buy some ads. Facebook groups are a waste of time because everyone is spamming there links there.

The reason these IM's fail is they aren't investing time and money into their business. In fact, IM isn't even a business to these people. They just spam links and hope to make money from it.

The correct way to make money online especially with the home biz opp/MMO niche is to BUILD A LIST and sell products to them. This method is said over and over again because it WORKS. As well as building a list, there are many other ways.

If you are serious about internet marketing and want to make a full time living with it, you'll have to treat it as a business. This means invest in proper resources.

Enough with the Blogger/Wordpress free hosting. Get yourself a domain and host as a starter. Once you have that, decide what you want to do with the site. Do you want a squeeze page, a blog, a service or...?

Very targeted paid advertising. I would do deeper than just the "make money" audience. I would target the marketing according to the type of product that was going to be offered. So, for instance, if the product was about making money on Kindle by writing books in one's spare time, I would brainstorm all the people this might appeal to, like:
    • Those who are looking for income as writers
    • Moms wanting something to do part time
    • Writers looking for alternative outlets for their work
    • Ghostwriters and "writers for hire"
. . . you get the idea. You want to put your offer in front of those who have already shared the fact that writing appeals to them.

Get as specific and closely matched in your marketing as you can so that the audience and the offer are perfectly aligned.

Each niche and product has their own audience and customer fan base. Finding this and finding the best way to reach them is just half the pain. The other half is improving ROI and cutting uncessary costs and using those funds more properly as reinvestments into your business

What's so exciting about a market that has been undergoing a severe downturn over the past several years and still hasn't bottomed out?

Follow the money. The most lucrative collective target market has almost always been baby boomers. For more than sixty years they have steered the course of products and services and now are reaching retirement. And for at least the past 20 years, this segment of the US population of about 78 million have been major players in the booming business opportunity market. Generally they are moving massively into franchises or MLM.

Oh me, the much dreaded term, MLM.

So many dreams down the tube with so much time and effort and money spent and wasted

LOL! That's true for any business when dufuses jump in without a plan, skill sets, or training. Seriously, MLM is a trillion dollar a year industry and the marketing model of choice for the most massive demographic in history - baby boomers. In recent years displaced corporate executives, management, and business professionals have also found MLM or franchises to be a good match for their life experiences, interpersonal communication skills, discipline, etc.

If you want to promote a home business/bizopp and make money why not just buy business opportunity seeker leads? Get the lead company to advertise and generate the leads for you. You don't need a ton of experience in phone sales to close leads over the phone. Memorize a few simple scripts and you're good to go.

If you don't have experience generating leads over the internet buying leads is probably your best option. I'm good at internet lead generation but it took me years to learn this stuff.

      Yeah, right

Buying those over-and-over spammed "leads" is a complete waste of money.
      No way.

Also, a bit more expensive way is to buy real-time optin leads from mlm and biz opp lead gen companies. They are usually $1-$4 a pop. But if you're good on the phone, and call these folks right away, you can usually pick up a few decent leads, say 5-10%. Again, it's pricey, but I used this technique in the past, and it worked for me, to help get me started.

Also, I like using a lead capture page in combo. Everyone I talked to, I'd follow up with an email to my lead capture page, and got decent conversions.

Also, you can buy lists from these mlm lead gen companies, and put the phone numbers in phone burner software, then smile and dial. Again, this works if you're disciplined and good on the phone.

More recently, I focused on doing YouTube vids and seemed to get just as good results. It takes more time doing a bunch of YT vids, but it's cheaper and results were about the same.

    Just my experience.

First of all it's important to decide with whom you want to work with. As there're so many different opportunities out there to make money online, there're also so many different people you can target.

Decide who your core audience is, because if not you're marketing to no one.

Secondly you always need to lead by value and come from a place of giving and service. No one likes to be pitched on something, but we all like to buy things we want.

And a business opportunity is only half story. People also need to learn how to build a successful business (online).

This is where you come in to bridge the gap.

Therefore find a (sub-) niche in the home-based business area that you like most and specialize in that. If you're, for example, passionate about creating helpful training videos (Video Marketing) you specialize in that and become the YouTube guy / expert in the eyes of your prospects.

Specialized Knowledge is very important because now you're positioning yourself as an expert & people seek you out and want to learn from you. They trust you and follow your word. This also helps you tremendously with the following:

Always make sure to brand yourself and build your own business.

This means that you focus your efforts on building your email list (as mentioned a few posts before) and make your business opportunity only one of several income streams (at least if you want to take full advantage of the possibilities of IM).

What you need to get once you've decided who's your target audience and what you want to specialize in:

    - Have your own blog (with own web and domain hosting) or at least a One-page Website (to offer your freebie in order to get your prospect's email address)
    - Main social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus)
    - Email Autoresponder (to build your email list)
    - a Freebie (some sort of free gift to give people in exchange for their email address; this can be a free video course, ebook, to-do-list, audio file...)

Then, you need to provide consistent value to your core audience.

Don't create content (blog article, facebook posts, tweets, YouTube videos ...) just for the sake of creating it... but always keep your desired outcome in mind:

Example: What do I want my prospect to do after he / she has watched the particular video? (Comment below, share on social media, subscribe to YT channel or email list.)

And get clear on your own Unique Selling Proposition (USP). What do you stand for? What's your brand all about? Why should people join you instead of someone else? etc.

    Hope That Helps,

    Mario
