Need advice re: best way to make money with my site!

Hi all!

So I have a question...

I'm signed up with a network marketing company that's really taking off. I love what it has to offer, which is discounts/savings on all sorts of everyday expenses. I've saved like $200 in 3 weeks (largely that was because I got to use the free roadside assistance right away when my car overheated! That would have costed me $85 for the tow...)

Anyway, my current squeeze page is below in my signature, if you'd be so kind as to take a look.

I'm wondering if a softer approach would work better...?

What I have in mind is instead of trying to get people to sign up for a free ecourse, try to get them to agree to a free 15 minute consultation by phone, or even by IM or something?, where I would find out just how much their membership with this company really would save them based on their current spending habits. I'm thinking that if they see the value up front instead of just a bunch of somewhat vague ideas, they'll be more likely to become a member. And then even if they aren't interested in the network marketing part of it at that moment, it might be easier to "convert" them later, if they're happy with what they're getting, and once they see all the support I offer for marketing ideas.

So I'd ask questions like: on average, how much do you spend each month on groceries, how much on gas, how much on movies, how much on eating out, how much on insurance, etc. etc. And we add it all up and compare it to the cost of membership and see how it looks.

But at the same time I don't want to spend a lot of time on the phone going through all this stuff just to have them "think about it" and never take action. I don't want to be pushy, either.

Maybe I could offer that free 2 night hotel stay as incentive for them to make a decision within a certain amount of time?

At the same time, it'd probably be harder to get people to offer me a phone number for a consultation than it would be to get people to sign up for a free ecourse. Maybe I should leave things the way they are, and offer the consultation in one of my initial follow-up autoresponders?

But I guess my dilemma is what I want my landing page to do: sign people up for a free ecourse, or sign them up for a free consultation...? Or maybe something else entirely!

I don't know, are there any marketers out there that are more seasoned than me who would be willing to give me some feedback on this?? I'd be SOOO appreciative!!

Thanks!

I am no expert and almost passed this up but think you need help.

    1. You need to know their call to action before writing one word. What do you want them to do? How will that make you money? What will you sell them?
    2. Who would be your buyer.
    3. Write up a whole page describing your buyer.
    4. Get in their head and see what they are looking for when landing on your site.
    5. What features of your product match their needs?
    6. Expand each feature into benefits. Maybe 100 benefits.
    7. Write your copy from that.
    8. Get them to BUY based off benefits.

My gut feeling is you are too unbelievable and you will need to prove that what you are saying is real before getting someone to do anything. Testimonials or screen captured proof. Checks, whatever.

Your concept interests me but not your haphazard delivery. Focus by doing what i said above.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

that's an awful lot of benefits! are you saying it would be good to actually list those benefits on my website, or is that mainly for my reference?

i don't want to make my site too long...

i agree with your point about "unbelievability" though. the potential for income is there but i don't know who has done it. however, i have spoken a couple of times with the president of the company and he has extended his support to me, so perhaps i could pick his brain about that, see if he can find members who are making a five-figure income who would be willing to provide me with screenshots or something... i'm not part of anyone's organization, though, so i don't know how likely it would be for them to help me.

i've been thinking about it a little more and i'm thinking what i'll do is come up with a questionnaire about people's spending habits. i can email that questionnaire to people, and based on their answers i can give them an idea of how much they would save (and/or how much more stuff they could buy - if they wanted to - for super cheap prices). that would take a little less time on my part.

maybe i'll add the question: if the government paid you around $30 an hour to run your own home business (whether or not you made a profit), and you only had to work on it for 3 hours a week with the INTENT to make a profit, and keep decent records of course, would you be interested in running an easy home business?

I'm sort of thinking out loud here... LOL

anyway thanks to everyone who has provided feedback! i am taking it all in!

P.S. I like the idea of writing a page about my buyer... I've never thought of that before!

All of the bold print makes it look like you're yelling at me - that's not good.

LOL I hadn't thought of that... I thought bold text just makes it stand out better, gives the site a little variety. i thought it was all capital letters that mean you're shouting.
