What exact questions to ask prospects in this niche?

OK I understand that this might not only relate to Internet marketing but many of you probably have done business in this niche.

I want to sell a yoga seminar and I want to know why specifically people go to yoga classes.

What are best questions that I can probe them with. Instead of just asking "why do you go to yoga classes" most people replay ambiguity things like: because its fun, because I like it, because it is popular.
However I know there is deeper reason they go to. But I can't figure how to extract the specific reason of why they go. I guess some go to loose weight, but certainty is better than guessing.

Knowing the specific results they try to achieve with yoga will help me write better copy and market better yoga exercises.

Well, why don't you try to put yourself in their shoes. Go and practice some yoga and see how that makes you feel. Be an insider.
From what i know yoga is relaxing, helps you meditate, focus, calm yourself and live longer.
Any sport is good for the body, but yoga have a strong connection with meditation .

I have tired it. I do it once in a while but for me is just to relax and better my flexibility. But that is just me.

I don't know how is it for other, but I'll take the advice of the other opinions - to look at forums etc.

Good input from King Manu. I would add that you can also look at Q&A type portals like Yahoo Answers & Quora to see what questions are being asked. Another thought is to look at survey data, like surveys administered through Google Surveys.

    People practice yoga to:

    - Relieve stress/depression/mental and physical illness....
    - Find inner peace and improve physical and mental health...

So, from there you go and make a better copy.

By the way - does anyone knows of a good yoga sales copy that converts. I'm not going to sell this course on English market, so i could borrow and idea or two.

Instead of just asking..why do you do yoga? Make your questions more in-depth, or around the topic..

    1) Does Yoga do anything to you mentally?
    2) How does your body feel after a Yoga session?
    3) What is your favorite Yoga stance, and why?

The list could go on and on..

    Hi Low,

    KM nailed it.

Be a yoga devotee, or, a yoga class visitor. Go to a few classes, get intimate with the experience, and you'll know exactly what to ask folks.

As a side note, those emotions you explain can clue you in to the benefits you need stress. Sure you want specific, detailed answers on some levels but this is a feelings kind of gig, this internet marketing bit, or heck, any selling bit. Tap into the emotions you wish to experience, and then, gauge the feedback of your ideal customer. Chances are the 2 emotions vibe, and you can play off of these feelings in your copy.

Keeping things simple keeps things prospering
