Writing copy and making video for pitch page. Any tips?

3 replies
Hi;

About to launch my first product. Don't have upsell yet. 2 questions:

1 - Any ideas on how to price it without upsell? Competition average sells for 50, then upsell for $110.

2 - Making straight pitch page for affiliates. Would that not attract affiliates?

Thanks

    Honestly, if your competition sells it for $50, then I would price mine at $129...just because there's value in being the premium brand on the block. I'm a copywriter though so I could make it stand out from the crowd, and I can tell you that everything will hinge on your actual copy. If you go that route though, then it should not resemble a squeeze page in any way, shape or form...because the premium brands do not try to sell. They simply give the benefits and let the product sell itself.

    As far as your affiliates go, I wouldn't worry about them just yet. Why? You're launching a new product and your job right now is to get one page converting as good as possible. So don't divide your focus...get one stage launched and spend the next few months split testing and fine-tuning. Once it's in place, then start chasing affiliates.

    To answer your question about whether a pitch page would get affiliates on board, that really depends on how unique your product is and how you're going to let others monetize it. Is there a reason selling your product would make me more money over your competition? What are the benefits for me? If you can't answer those types of questions specifically, then your pitch page will convert poorly.

      Do you have a sample of such page?

      Also how do you mean testing? PPC or offering 95% to affiliates ?

        For testing, I'm talking about your entire funnel...from generating leads to how many opt in to how many make the purchase. Just small increases in conversions can add up to thousands of extra dollars per month, and that's why it should always be one of your biggest priorities.

        I can't think of any samples off-hand but I'll post a link if anything comes to mind. I'm sure others behind me will have the time to track some ideas down.
