This May Be A Stupid Question?....

I am a successful Internet Marketer, but I want to get the opinions of other warriors here on the best Anti- Virus protection for the Windows PC...

I am not looking for use the Search Bar, because I am not looking into another persons eyes, I am asking for my own personal reference.

I have used Spyware Doctor for years and they was friggin great, until they decided they would be shutting down their service.

I used Bitdefender, but it bogged down my computer and made it real slow(even though it was a great software)

I am asking you warriors, what virus and spyware protection do you use for your Windows PC?

Again, I have been apart of this forum for almost 5 years and I know how to use the search function and that I did..

But I am asking for my own personal reference(not that of anyone else) so I can make an informed decision on what is out there and which one to choose.

If you don't mind, list which provider you use with a URL(WF rules means no affiliate link) Which I wouldn't mind buying from an affiliate link, but this is WF rules. Also list why you went with them..

Thanks in advance,
-Michael Cook

spybot, sorry I don't have a link but simple google search for spybot should work. I went with them because they were free and works great and did not bog down my PC.

Michael, I've been using Kaspersky for a few years now and really like it - very user friendly and catches a lot of potential problems. Prior to that I used Norton and had a lot of headaches - bogged down my computer and wasn't always up to date on threats. I also use MalwareBytes.

    Links to their respective sites:

Kaspersky Lab US | Antivirus & Internet Security Protection Software

Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware & Internet Security Software

Btw, not a stupid question at all!

Thanks Mike Linley and and Cali16 and Kilgore...

I know this belongs in the off topic forum, I have been here for 5 years and I know the rules very well... I asked it in the main forum, because I know that I would get the answers that I needed within minutes...

Avast - Free, easy to use, doesn't slow down my computer and seems to have stopped a few things already. I'm even considering upgrading, but as of now...I don't seem to need to.

    Love it.

    Hope that was helpful.

Personally I use NOTHING. run malwarebytes once a week, and I guess windows defender is running. that's it. all that crap I swear creates more issues than not having it.

    I use Malwarebytes and hitmanPro.

It always seems they both find some different types of treats so it's good to have more than one protection to ensure your data is safe.

    Another alternative is to back up your entire hard drive using something like mypcbackup for a couple of bucks a month, no worries ever then;

I have used Kaspersky but its slow down the PC. It is the main problem of Kaspersky. I think Norton is much better than Kaspersky. If you want to use free anti-virus then my suggestion is Microsoft security essential. I have been using Microsoft Security essential for last four months.
