Any decent ebook ideas?

Hey there,

I am tempted to write an ebook that has to do with computers or gaming (haven't narrowed it down yet) Dosen't have to be huge project, just something that I could sell for 10 bucks perhaps.

What do you think would sell?

    Whatever's hot in the industry. Virtual Reality games are looking like the next HUGE thing.

      Totally agree here. What about something on gaming with the Oculus Rift headgear?

        Yeah. There's not much at this point. The consumer version of the Oculus Rift isn't due out until later this year. There are hundreds of developers scrambling to get programs out in time. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to demo three programs. Amazing stuff. With two of the three you can't tell your in a virtual setting. Very real.

        Other than write about it I'm not sure what you could do to latch onto this comet. Once the thing hits the stores (several companies, including Microsoft have similar products in development) there should be a lot of opportunities.

    Are you asking which we think would sell out of the two? I think both would, but gaming is always hot. Computers may be a bit more of gamble. With all the tablets, mobile phones..etc. Computers aren't even being used as much as they once were. On the other hand, that's not the case with gaming!

    I would have a look at all the big gaming forums! You'll easily find out what people want to hear more about when it comes to gaming or even what problems they or what fix they need. It comes all down to proper research!

    I agree with the others, having something new like the Oculus Rift could be a huge market so writing a guide about it could be profitable. Also, when deciding for a title, write some witty and creative ones such as:
    • 20 things to try with the Oculus Rift
    • What not to do with the Oculus Rift
    • 7 of the best future advances in the gaming industry
    • etc.

      Look at up and coming games or games which are gaining massive popularity like DOTA 2, it just set records on steam for the amount playing at one time. Then again, to write a product on a game you generally have to be good at the game so you may run into a problem there.

        I must say that I am tempted to write about the Oculus rift but probably won't until it becomes more available (starts hitting all the stores). I have had the fortune of trying it since my dad owns one, wow truly amazing and vivid experience!

        As someone mentioned, asking around on gaming forums is a great way of getting to know the market, haven't even thought about this yet!
