Is awstats statistic stats counts a visitor daily or once a month only

I am wondering how the awstats in cpanel works. I have already daily unique visitors - are the recent visitors be counted as unique visitors on their next day visit?

Like for example I have a visitor that visits 20 times a month on my website, would awstats counted it as I have 20 unique visitors in one month?

I need more clarification about how awstats works. Thanks!

Different stats programs work in different ways as to what they count as unique.

According to their help page, the default for a unique visitor is once a month.

That said, if the visitor is using a dynamic IP address (a new one assigned every time they log in via their mobile for instance) then that would confuse matters.

And anyone using a cache - maybe supplied by their ISP - would also make the unique count wrong.

Don't get hung up on visitor figures.

Other things like sign-ups and sales count for a lot more.

I suggest you install Google Analytics. With Awstats you're dealing with your raw server logs and they track almost every damn thing that hits your site.

Install analytics on your site. There are some good free options. I suggest clicky.com.

Try using histats as it shows best visitor stats than Awstats from Cpanel. I use analytics, histats and loved to have both on my sites.
