Hi. I have a technology blog attached to a .net domain name (not the one in my sig) that I have had for years. I also own the .com and .org domains which forward to the .net. Now, I have learned that that is probably the worst way to do it, but there are reasons why I am attached to using the .net as the primary, for that site and concept. Anyway, since the domain name has been around for years and there is a name history going back to an old company email newsletter that I once did, etc. So, since the URL is not any real "keyword", what methods besides backlinking and article writing can I use to get this site to come up with keywords in the technology, technology news, gadgets, operating systems, video games etc areas? Too big a bite to chew? The only ting I have been doing lately is writing some posts of an informative nature to the blog. The blog is monetized with Adsense, Amazon, and some other affiliate links on the main page. So far I have made nothing with it, but it has only been online for a week or so, so no surprise there. This particular blog is a bit of a personal passion, (I have worked in IT for software companies for 15+ years, so the software industry has been a bit of a passion of mine) so it's not a fly by night thing, but it fits within another program that I am following. The other programs rely on keyword research and proper URL to keyword relation from the get go, but like I said with this one it came about differently. I don't want to spend so much time on it as it takes away too much from the other "proper" IM endeavors, but I would like to make it "work" on some level. Thanks. |
