Find the right price?

I always thought make an offer as cheap as possible.. (Thats how i buy right?)

But know i have began to believe it is a hoax..

I have tried with the same product a price range from $9 to $200.. and when the price was $200 i sold "really good".. now i have dropped the price down to $9 and i AM SELLING NOTHING?

Maybe i learned something about pricing, what is you guys experience with this.. cheap is not always good?

People don't want to be sold cheap things, they want to be sold value. There are things that are obviously only worth $9 thus are accurately valued, however if you are promising someone the world, and hyping your new service to be the next revolutionary big thing and you are only selling it for $9, people are naturally going to be skeptical and raise a red flag.

A friend of mine was recently looking for an apartment and the apartment owner, when showing him the room, then said "if you get this room today you get a free widescreen TV". My friend became naturally skeptical because it comes of as though he is undervaluing the property, thus it comes off as cheap and undesirable.

It is ok to sell a $200 product given that its perceived value is worth that much

This is pretty interesting. Are there any other threads about product pricing?

Excellent book you can get fairly cheap from Amazon/Kindle is Dan Kennedy's No BS Price Strategy. Of course the reason it is cheap is about 20% of it is upsells, but the other 80% is valuable info.
