Blogs: Hiding Premium Posts

Hi

Just wondered if anyone had ever experimented with hiding or limiting access to 'premium' posts or content unless a payment of 0.99 cents is made or something?

Sounds like a better idea then adwords... but, would anyone actually pay?!

I don't want to put people off reading my blog!

Thanks

I ran into a site last week that required a small "joining fee" to read specific content. I left the site.

Unless you have specialized knowledge in a particular niche - or good following - or information/expertise that can't be found everywhere else...I don't see how it could work.

I could be wrong - but it's not something I would even test myself. If you try it - let us know how it worked.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

    Do you mean Adsense?

If they have no prior experience with you, it's doubtful.

Premium content is how you make your site visible....so de-listing that information from the search engines is a true recipe for disaster. There are about 20-30 marketing bloggers that could do this and become very wealthy since they already have tons of content/subscribers in place, but the rest would fall flat on their faces.

Instead, make all your posts free and write eBooks to sell. Much better model for success.
