So i have DLGuard, and was wondering how LONG you give your customers to download the product they just bought? and how many attemps also?

I was thinking of giving them either 48 hours or longer and 5 attemps...is this standard, or what do you recommend? thanks guys!!

That sounds reasonable to me. Still, you'l find the few exceptions that didn't even try to download for a week and ask you to reset the download page. I don't know why, but it happens.

Typically I use 48 hours and 3 attempts. One thing you want to do is set it so that any attempts after the 3 will send the person to your sales page. The reason being that some people might try to list your dl url on a site like twitter, squiddoo, or some other social networking site. If you have the thing set so that all failed attempts go to your sales page then you stand a really good chance of getting conversions on those that would have taken it for nothing.

For protection, I also like the white knight protector. It has some super features such as software and ebook disabling on refund and the alike.
