I was able to get an ebook published to Amazon Kindle and naturally now I want to promote it.

On Kindle my book has its own page with a description and buy now buttons etc.. is this good or do I still need a sales page?

Do the keywords in the description count on google?

When linking to this page, say from twitter or my existing website should I use a direct link or my amazon affiliate link?

If I need a sales page does it need its own domain or can I attach it to my existing website e.g. mybook.com or mysite.com/mybook?

Thank you

Congrats for you to have your ebook published on Amazon. I highly suggest you drive traffic to your Amazon instead to your own domain.

It doesn't matter whether you want to use own website domain for the kindle or not because if the ebook is relevant enough to be in your website, then its normal to google.

Do not focus on keywords counts/density too much. No need to over optimized your page with the keywords. In fact just focus on the giving the best content to your readers. You might want to use some part of your ebook as your content.

  • You will get different opinions on where to drive traffic to depending on what type of traffic you are driving to what type of eBook.

In a case like yours, it appears that you are promoting a specialized (updatable) essential eBook directory to a specific crowd of folks who are known to shop around constantly for similar information, (of which I am VERY familiar with) as I have catered to them for well over 2 decades and have sold similar products.

Therefore I suggest that you spend your energy driving traffic to a squeeze page, and/or, any type of optin form where you can first and foremost capture and retain your audiences email address. (perhaps offer 10% of your eBook content as an incentive).

If they do end up purchasing, it will allow you to follow up incase you update your ebook(s), and/or offer new services towards the same crowd.

I'm not sure what the exact % is, but I if you drive 1000 visitors to your amazon page, a very small percentage of them will buy from looking at your eBook the first time. They may leave, and go look around elsewhere to see if they can get a better deal on similar information etc. Chances are that they may never return.

Having their email address will in the long run result in a much higher ROI for your efforts (time + $ invested) to get that targeted lead. + you will also be able to promote other related products as an affiliate to the same crowd.

I would start promoting with a Pre-launch Landing Pages, you can send them to your blog or target your reach with Facebook Ads.

That page in Kindle is your sales page. What you need in your site is an incentivized opt-in offer...

In your Kindle sales page? Won't hurt, but focus on optimizing your sales page content for human viewers -- Your sales page should be attention-grabbing, provocative, enticing, interesting, entertaining and compelling...

You don't need to use your Amazon affiliate link. Your affiliates should use your Amazon affiliate link when promoting your product. Also, direct link to your product in your promotional emails with a compelling recommendation of your product for your subscribers...

As I said above -- You need an incentivized opt-in offer in your website. Something that can provide unique value to your site viewers. Something attention-grabbing, provocative, enticing, interesting, entertaining and compelling. Something so good that they'd willingly exchange their first names, emails and / or mobile phone numbers to get your incentivized opt-in offer and even link to or talk about or recommend or mention your opt-in offer to their peers and viewers across their social networks and their own sites / blogs...

So, this is how you should set up your campaigns:

Your attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling offsite content and offsite ads =>> Your attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling incentivized opt-in offer and onsite content materials that your target viewers can check out so as to verify your relevant niche expertise =>> Your attention-grabbing, enticing and compelling non-promotional emails with unique value that can also supplement the value that your subscribers got from your incentivized opt-in offer =>> Your promotional emails with compelling recommendations for your product (and your other relevant affiliate products) =>> The sales page of your product (and the sales pages of your other relevant affiliate products)...

    That's it for now. Cheers!

AWESOME! I hadn't thought about getting emails. So, I need a squeeze page with incentivised offer but it does not need to be on its own domain. Direct link not affiliate link.

I appreciate the time you guys put in, THANKS
