DIY Webinar Interface

3 replies
Does anyone know if there are any tutorials/books.etc, on creating a DIY Invited Webinar Interface?
Here's what I define that as:
  • A window for the stream (from Hangouts or YouTube LiveStream/Wirecast)
  • A Chat place so people can ask questions during the presentation
  • A Way to put "call to Actions" on the screen in the sell portion of a webinar.

Wordpress or otherwise.

What got me started on this is that many of the packaged webinar systems, even though they can send stuff out and capture leads, are often depicted as working synergistically with other things like AWeber, LeadPages, SendGrid. But itthere is overlap between those and what the webinar packages offer. It seems to me that if you have something like GetResponse (Not bad landing page creating tool and many other tools included) and you pair it with something like YouTube Live, you're 99 percent of the way there. The only thing left is the call to action side of things on a webpage be it Wordpress or whatever.

Thanks!!
Mike

    Hey Mike;

    Glad to see you on the forum. I'd be a little weary of trying to piece together a DIY Webinar scenario because in the end, you want a platform that produces a good user experience. As you say, you may be able to piece something together, but if something goes wrong with a piece that's not designed to interact or do something that you want it to do, you could mess up your presentation and the whole user experience.

    While Go To Webinar is the grand daddy and most expensive solution, there are others like WebinarJam (hosted solution), Webinar Ignition and RunClick (Wordpress-based solutions) that integrate with Google+ Hangouts on Air. Each of these platforms allow for call-to-actions and chat interactivity with users.

    Hope this helps.

    Carlos, great to see you too!! Thanks for the words of wisdom. The User Experience is indeed an important cog in the Webinar machine and simplifying is key.

    Adenan, Thank you for the suggestion. Been looking through YouTube and have found vids for parts of the webinar but not all of it. If I find something will post it.

    Thanks guys!
