How to point articles to your blog?

Hi there,

May sound like a daft question but I have yet to set up a blog!

If I have a load of articles do you just use the general home page blog url in the article so it will just point to the general home page o fthe blog or do you point your articles to specific blog posts... so in this case i guess the url will be different depending on the particular post you are directing to.

Also is it recommended to backlink "to your" articles through links within posts. Would they have to be a separate bunch of articles or does it not matter?

Please can anyone just let me know how this side of things work.
Many thanks

  • For a new blog, I point all my off site articles to the main website. example.com
However, I point the articles using anchor text in the resource box. The anchor text is simply the main keyword phrase you are targeting with your website.

This way, you are building backlinks using your keywords, and you are getting traffic from the article directories at the same time.

    Thanks Charles,

I hope I have understood your message....

okay I point my articles to main home page of blog i.e example.com/blog

Articles anchor text link - previously when I have used pointed to a Squidoo I have just used the same keyword in "title in article" as in the "anchor text link." So I think you are saying that if your blog main KW is "making money" then use this KW in your anchor text when pointing your article to blog.

    I hope I have this right ?

    Thanks again

  • That's right. But, I make all my blogs on the indexes, but subdomains. In the case that I do have a static site and a blog on a subdomain, I put two links in the resource page - one to the main page, one to the blog main page.

Most article directories allow two links in the resource box.
