Niche Site monetization seems a bit abstract to me...

So I understand that Niche Sites can be a fairly profitable method in Internet Marketing. My question is, the only ways I can see how they make money are through Adsense and Affiliate marketing on the niche site's niche.

If this is the case, are niche site owners essentially banking on making money through people clicking onto their website, then clicking on the ads on the website, or purchasing through your affiliate links? Seems like profits would be few and far between...

But, of course I am wrong because many people are making a killing off Niche Sites I'm aware haha could anyone explain where the error is in my logic?

You're true in that the people marketing their products/services through the ads on your site will probably make a lot more money than you will from people clicking them.

Profit is plenty if you grow your site to get a lot of traffic and you don't have to deal with the other things that go into being the product seller such as customer support and marketing.

You can also collect emails in the process and then choose to market your own product/service later on down the road.

I think most of your sites revenue would come from PPC and affiliate links. However, you could also do a variety of other things such as collect emails, sell text links on the site, promote a single social media profile across all sites and grow that single profile at a faster rate..etc.

I don't think people focus on just one niche site..They tend to focus on a small (or even large) network of them.

For niche sites most the most popular way to monetize is usually adsense and cpa.

How much you make depends on your traffic, the quality of traffic, the market your are in, and how much google is paying for people to click on ad per keyword (which varies greatly anywhere from .10 - $15+)

Is there any way to see how much google is paying for the keyword I am interested in?

    Hi E,

The direct, clear and easiest way to make money through niche sites is to create content, helpful content, related to that niche and to form meaningful bonds with pros in the niche.

The channels you mention do little by themselves; it's the expertise, the wisdom, the knowledge, shared, and the quality and number of your connections which makes this online niche site thing pop. Sure there are channels to work, as you note, but focus heavily on the nuts and bolts, the foundation building stuff, and you'll have few issues making money through a wide range of channels.

Add in products if you want to rock out niche sites. Publish a niche eBook, or niche book, to establish your authority and to prosper. Books are great trust building agents and when you build trust, folks are more likely to click on your ads too

When you have sunk your teeth into a area of life you are passionate about - you'll have plenty to share.

Share uniqueness. The internet doesn't need more spammy niche sites.

Typically niche sites rely on content marketing and selling information products (either digital or physical) that appeal to a niche audience's interests in order to make money.

These info products might be someone else's (known as affiliate marketing - as you mentioned) or your own. You could also sell services through your niche website.

Here are some examples of revenue streams you might pursue:

    1) Digital Products: ebooks, apps, software,

    2) Physical Products: books, merchandise

    3) Services: coaching, web design, copywriting, programming

    4) Affiliate Products & Services

    5) Advertising: contextual advertising, text links/text ads, banner ads

    6) Live Events: speaking, conferences, workshops

As Chris said, collecting emails and building a mailing list is definitely your best bet if you're looking to make a long term income from your niche site.

    I hope this helps!
