Stumbleupon Traffic Good or Not?

I find a site listed in Flippa with over 95% traffic from Stumbleupon. Can the Stumbleupon traffic be trusted? I just wondering how the site owner get so many Stumbleupon traffic? Is it dangerous to buy the site? sorry, so many questions.

    I don't know if I would buy a site that had 95% traffic from Stumbleupon.. Maybe if it had something that would explain the traffic like being featured on their homepage or something like that.. I've found that with Stumbleupon some niches do better than others. For example, if its a quote website or a humor website or something like that, it tends to do better than some others.

    I would be very skeptical that the stumbleupon traffic will last assuming it isn't paid SU traffic.
    In any case it is not a good foundation for a site. I'd pass unless you know another way to promote the site.

      I would agree. Paid traffic = better than free traffic because that means they are likely turning a profit if they keep advertising.

    It is very dangerous to buy it, because stumbleupon traffic is periodical (like facebook shares) once your stumbles/shares/tweets get burried down, the traffic will increase and stop.

    If we are talking for the same site that I saw ... there was 100k visitors for 3 months...the question is how did he managed to get more than 1000 visitors each day with stumbleupon...

    Another point to look at is the bounce rate, generally Stumbleupon traffic has got huge bounce rate

      Lol was just fixing to say the same thing. Stumbleupon has a toolbar and most generally people go to the site and then back to stumbleupon via the toolbar or another site. I had a friend who was good at manipulating stumbleupon and able to crush some servers back in the day. The traffic was good for a nice WOW factor and maybe a couple dollars other then that it was worthless. However this was years ago and things do change.
