What can you do to reach more customers with a hosting offer?

Hi community members.

We need your advice on our recent promo. Despite us being pretty straightforward about our advantages we are not getting much traction with our campaign (located here vpshostingpromo dot com).

Warriorforum appears to be very profit-driven community so your opinion matters. A piece of advice would be highly appreciated.

Looking forward to your replies.

You could mention the promo on webmaster forums.

      Thanks for response. Tom.

Actually most of the forums require you to place your advertisement-related threads to one section - and when there are tons of same threads - nobody pays attention, really.

I know this page isn't in English, we will translate it soon. I hope the content is self-explanatory, and if you select one of the possible plans - you get to our order page, which is in English (and 50% discount is applied at once). What can you say about the design or something like that? And can hiring CPA company for promotion be feasible for such deals?

Maybe the most important part of that is analysis of efficiency. We will launch new promos, no problem - we simply need to find efficient methods of reaching audience.

Give people a reason why they should be hosting with you.

Wealthy Affiliate has done a fantastic job of this (I'm not a customer just know people that are).

In other words, if you're just going to try and do "host with me" that's going to be pretty tough.

If you're going to work with small businesses and help them to rank but they are also going to pay you for hosting ... that could work.

If you are going to provide hosting with autoinstalled wordpress, the correct SEO plugins, and help to customize a template ... that could work.

You have to give people a reason why they should be using YOUR hosting over just going straight to hostgator or something.

What's going to be your "Unique Selling Proposition" (USP) for your hosting? Answer that question and you can probably figure out how to get clients too.

mikefashen, thank you for your thoughts.
It's hard tick all the boxes. Different areas need different features. In our case we try to emphasize on diversity of locations where you can have our service. Helping small business grow is one of our main goals from day one, tbh.
Off course it's hard to compete with big guys out there but we need to try, that's why first post appeared)

Your page is in Russian, so there's much I don't understand...

However, I don't see a Unique Selling Proposition. That's a big issue. I've seen "green" VPS's, VPS's for game servers, VPS's for affiliate marketers who drive a lot of traffic per minute and the server needs to be up at all time, VPS's that get a consultant attached to guarantee the server is always up and you're not having any technical issues... and so on. What's your USP?

You don't have live chat on your site. For a hosting company, that would boost my confidence that there's always someone to talk to if/when there's a problem.

You display your hosting offers in a slider, which means I can't compare the servers side by side. There's a reason all major hosting companies show their packages in a comparison table.

But the page is not everything. You could have the perfect pitch but if you deliver it to the wrong crowd, you would still get zero as a result. So your campaign could very well fail because of your audience targeting.

    Best regards,
    Gabi

I definitely agree with putting your contact information right at the top of the site. As far promoting your offer, do you have an affiliate program? I'd actually start there as you could have a team promote your offer on your behalf.

    gabibeowulf, thank you.
USP in current promo is a discount offer. We don’t usually do 50% discounts.
As mentioned earlier we emphasize on diversity of locations. Additionally we try to be very flexible which means that you can configure your service with HW you want and software you need.
Livechat is right there in the upper right corner of our website (the green box). Promo page has it too, it’s at the bottom.
I’ll pass the side by side comparison option to my team, thank you for your suggestion.
Delivering right message to the right audience matters, that’s for sure.
P.s. English version of this page is in progress by the way.

      That is not a USP.

"Your pizza hot and fresh to your door in 30 minutes or it's free"

That is the USP that Dominoes Pizza used for a very long time and it turned them into the #1 pizza chain in the US.

It's a USP that explains exactly what you get and exactly when you get it in a way that also explains WHY you should be using them (most pizza places in the US need 45 minutes to deliver a pizza).

A discount offer DOES NOT tell me why I should be using your hosting service over any other hosting company.

And even if it was, trying to create a USP centered around price is a fast way to go broke because someone will always be cheaper than you. You can expect a very high customer turnover because the only customers you attract are the bargain basement bottom feeders that will leave you the instant someone else is cheaper.

When you can change hosting companies with a 10 second change to your domain registrar you aren't doing anything by simply being "cheaper" to instill any kind of loyalty or desire to stick with your service.

You need to come up with a COMPELLING reason why someone should use your hosting instead of any other generic hosting.

    Thanks for clarification, mikesfashen.

Actually, our driving motto is "ready for anything". How do we do this? with proactive monitoring.

It is done daily. We perform automatical daily checks of our HDD's for bad read sectors and replace them as soon as the numbers of faulty clusters begin to rise. This way our clients aren't experiencing service downtime, as preventing HDD failure and replacing a faulty drive in time is much better for our clients and for us.

Our main advantage over Hostgator is that we are smaller. We are much more versatile and act quickly. We respond in time and each client is important. You will never be treated like you are one of the crowd. And there is one more important advantage.

    We do what we promise.

We sell our own equipment, not leased servers. Enterprise grade Supermicro hardware and it pays back every cent you spend.
We are working in shifts to cover your needs 24/7, so your question will be answered fast and issues are solved within hours, not days... or weeks like some Hostgator customers say in many threads on many forums, including WF.
We actually have already helped several clients make working websites from their mess of code and plug-ins. Because working website is needed to get profit, and help like that is what becomes a bond between you and your customer.

It works, our client database increases steadily... yet slowly. Thanks for your remarks, we will try to mention it on our promo pages. Unfortunately, there is no way to prove it until you try us out. And simply stating this fact does not peruade anybody, because ALL providers offer "blazing speed, round-the-clock support, etc." But not all of them do that.

The point is that we need to show this all on a very limited space of a landing page without overwhelming it with all the details. And we still think that trying us out for free is the best way to start a mutually beneficial long-term business.

    Thanks for the advice, Joe.

We are currently discussing such a possibility. We are actually in search of an active affiliate company, which can provide the results we expect. Unfortunately, all of them state they are the best and most of them have negative reviews on different forums, including Warriorforum.

Do you know any reliable affiliate company, Joe?

As long as it's lucrative for the affiliates to promote your hosting plan, and your offer converts, it should attract affiliates. You will find negative reviews about pretty much everything, but ultimately, if an affiliate brings you a costumer, and gets paid a comission, I don't see anything that possibly could be negative for any participating party (You/costumer/affiliate)

Sorry but I can't recommend you a good company to transact your affiliate program, I'm not versed enough in the hosting niche. So I'd rather not recommend you anything specific

    Thanks for clarificaton, Joe.

Unfortunately, after spending some time studying the methods of several affiliate marketing companies, we understood that they either provide trash traffic with no avail to us or ask too much for their services. That is why we are currently looking for real webmasters and active affiliate companies, because true cooperation with us would be lucrative for all parties, you are right.
