Hi! there are a lot of Twitter tools out there! And i am sure many warriors are using them too... For instance I am sure there is something that can be done to a Twitter profile if we want to automate the process of sending an instant tweet to someone who has just started following me... And then there are many other tools as well... I just want to know if you know of any of them and if you do, please post them here. I highly appreciate that. If possible, please also post the kind of resulst you get after using these tools if you have used them personally. Thanks Lakshay |

Keep an eye on my signature - we've got the proof of concept model completed and are now developing the remaining features. After looking at the available tools, I decided to make one that covers all the bases from the Windows desktop. It's a wickedly cool tool and used properly, can leverage the hell out of twitter for marketing without flat out spamming it. |

Take this comment with a grain of salt because I am a Twitter newbie ![]() So far, I see people using it in a completely spammy way, which may or may not be working for them. For example, they use various tools to auto-follow anyone who follows them and send a Direct Message to them with an offer. It took about 5 minutes for me to become "Blind" to them. I see others swoop in and continually "Tweet" offers that appear to be machine posted (I could be wrong). I see a number of ways that it could be used a lot more effectively but I don't see others doing it. Now, I'm not the brightest sheep in the flock, but I can't believe others aren't thinking outside the box. By the way, Twitter does expose an API that allows developers to create applications for it, but from what I've seen of the tools, I also suspect it's not being used much.

Lakshay, I use TwitterFox - makes my life soooo much easier. For me anyway, I love the fact that it has three panes - one for all messages, one that is for replies just to me and one for direct messages. I had actually missed a JV request because of the sheer amount of messages on there and didn't discover it until I installed TwitterFox (thankfully in time!) - so it is a definite time/life saver. Pete at mashable has around 200 Twitter tools listed I believe - Link One and Link Two HTH, Cary |

My idea is not to Spam anyhow but to build solid business and personal relationships with other Twitter users, and the idea is to automate redundant tasks like having to go back to Twitter everytime you post to your blog to tell people about that. Now obviously you can have multiple blogs and you might want to customize the messages you post on Twitter... And that could be a cool application. One of the best things about the Internet is that automation and outsourcing enable us to eradicate the tasks of repetetion and just focus on what is really creative. Like creating new content for people.... creating new products... new copy etc. QAnd eliminating everything that is repetetive and boring and mundane and redundant. I have been using Twitter for a few months and I have a tiny little list of Followers. Even then, I can comfortably say I have built a lot of credibility and personal relationships with many people over at twitter. And that has resulted in more friends and larger Bank balance. So I wanted to know what are the tools that can help me do this on a massive scale. Now if people are looking at the list pof somebody's followers, and then simply following them based on appearances.... which is what we are most likely to do, then there is no harm in using some softyware to do that as well.. Then if you are posting Tweets, it is not necessary that all the people that are following you are getting hose messages... they simply might not be online. So I want to think of a way to work around this trouble as well... There must be some way to do that.... Twitter is a tool that is great for the marketers that are using it and not even visible to those that aren't. Spamming is not the only thing that happens at Twitter, there are relationshoips being built as well. And we would all like to have tools for that... right Mike? ![]() just my .02 Lakshay

I'm greatly looking forward to Big Mike's Twitter tool. I agree about the auto-welcome messages sent by Tweetlater. Twitter is a social networking community and it must be approached as such. Yes, people use it for business - I now have more clients from there than I do from the WF - but you have to use it the same way you would if you were at a business function...you wouldn't walk up to people you don't know and try to make a sale. You would shmooze a little first and get to know them. The auto-messages I have a problem with are the ones that instantly try to sell me something, or even in all honesty the auto-messages that try to get me to download somethng for free - in exchange for my email address. Usually what I'm downloading for free turns out not to have been worth my time and effort. I don't think Tweetlater auto-messages are automatically evil, but I would suggest just using them to greet people and thank them for following you - don't try to sell just yet! At most, say something like "Thanks for following me! I'd love it if you got a chance to check out my blog and tell me what you think." |

And all of the core functions are automated now, so balancing things like followers versus followings, Scheduled Tweet Series (like email series) and such are very cool. I think anyways it's going to strike a nice balance between automation (for redundant tasks), relationships and business without the spam.

Tweetlater. And it will send a message automatically to anyone who follows you, if you set it up that way. Schedule Future-Dated Twitter Tweets TweetLater.com. From their website: Keep your Twitter stream ticking over with new tweets even when you're not in front of your computer. Or, use it as your personal reminder system. PLUS... Send automated thank you notes to new followers, and automatically follow new followers, if you choose to do so. |

Shannon, the TweetLater tool mentioned above does have that option. I use Twhirl and love it. It is a desktop application that pops up a little window in the lower right hand corner when you receive a tweet. I can glance at it and see if it is something I want to read or not at that point in time. It also color codes the messages to show if it is a reply to you or a direct message as well. Like I said I love it, but am definitely looking forward to Mike's application. |

According to Twirl you MUST have Adobe Air to make Twirl work! SO...you probably DO have Air and don't even realize it! From their site, twhirl uses the Adobe AIR runtime and can be installed and used on every system for which AIR is available. Currently, AIR 1.0 supports Windows (2000 SP4, XP SP2 and Vista) and Mac OSX (10.4.9 or newer, 10.5.x). chuck

I love Twitter as it does create a connection with your potential clients. I do like people to know what I do so I do provide a link to my website in an auto reply provided by tweetlater. I've used twirl, but was not impressed with it as it wouldn't stay connected. Twitterfox is a much better option. What's the future of Twitter?? No crystal ball here...but, I can say that it's easy and will allow you to grow your business with your audience. WHAT I DON'T LIKE: I had a guy who I'd subscribed to who sent multiple ads (same ad 6 times) 3 or 4 times a day. I replied back to him with no response or change, so I quit following him. Balance is good here....and don't forget, the more personable you are - the better. Jay NaPier |

There's this one guy who just "Tweets" links that lead directly to a Clickbank product. It's so stupid! Tweeting is like socializing. It can be like socializing at a convention full of like-minded business people, but it's still primarily social. I'm sure that most people "unfollow" him promptly. Big Mike is working on a rockin' Twitter software which will help take care of Twitter spammers. |

When someone posts affiliate links like that, EVERYONE who is following them sees it - not just me. It may not technically fit the definition of spam but it is annoying, adds no value - it isn't either informative or entertaining - and it doesn't fit in with social networking.

I gotta chime in here and tell you to pick up the OP's Twitter WSO There's tons of great information in there and she lays it all out so you don't have to figure it out on your own. My own $0.02 is that Twitter is just like the WF. Make valuable contributions and you'll get more people to follow you. I've had 6 follows so far today and over a period of a week that's almost 50 new people that will be well within my range to contact if I choose to do so. |

OK OK so this is the verdict... Using Tweetlater and Thwirl... I guess that is all there is to it... And then we are all awaiting the launch of the software from icansoft... That's pretty much all there is to it. Rest is about the right use of this macro blogging platform ... just like any other social networking site. Chilles de paparita |
