Good Affiliate Marketing Books?

Hi there,

At the moment, I been reading mostly ebooks from Amazon kindle. But I noticed great part of them are basically copied and pasted information and pretty much all provide similar information.

Besides, you can't trust the reviews over there, since they're being gamed.

Anyone has a good suggestion for an book that has helped them improve their affiliate marketing skills? I mostly build niche websites and promote affiliate products. But I'm looking to learn more.

Thanks,
Linda Miller

If you are looking for a book that talks about affiliate marketing in general, that's fine. But if you are looking which have different methods of promotions, be aware that some methods that might have worked well in the past, might become outdated. In that case, the recently-launched ebooks could be a better choice.

Thanks everyone, I been checking all the books you mentioned. I understand Dave, but the problem about new books is many times the authors aren't well known. I already wasted a lot of my time doing wrong stuff because of misleading information.

Not to do any author out of a business, but your original post actually highlights the problem; meaning that I'm sure your're aware of it. Affiliate marketing is, as you no doubt know, a very dynamic field. The moment we put something a book - hard version or digital - the erosion process is already begun. Things change. Information, eroded. So, for this reason alone, I 3 alternatives:

    - Forums.
    - Blogs.
    - Updated Informational Products.

Speaking as an information junkie for a second, I can tell you'll never go wrong with the above. If you wanted to learn needle point, then the scenarios is different. Affiliate marketing? Gotta keep up with the times.

I agree very much with the post above. Things continually change. You may find it more benficially to look at forums and learn this way since new information is always thrown on them.

Also, if you notice someone who knows their stuff and like their answers, you can message them and ask for 1-1 advice. This can sometimes be even more powerful then reading a book because you are getting information straight from someone who may be building a thriving business already.

On a side note, a book I recommend isn't based on affiliate marketing but in business in general

Its called The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco (look it up on Amazon)

Again, its not 100% about affiliate marketing but about all forms of business and what entrepreneurs should be looking for when starting a business.

  • I would not buy ebooks, instead I will use my money to enroll on a good course in affiliate marketing.

Also, by following the blogs or websites of successful marketers or by just reading popular marketing websites and forums, I can get updated of the tips and advice on affiliate marketing.

Yes, you're right! I been recently checking blogs and found a few there are far better than the kindle books I bought. I just noticed a lot of the information in these books are outdated. Especially, when it comes to SEO and the type of websites that are working well.

      Thanks

        Linda,

May I offer a different viewpoint? I own and have studied the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner. It is a good read and contains much valuable information from someone that actually does affiliate marketing and has been very productive at it over a number of years.

Rosalind also has a blog and some training that allows her to update her methods and talk about the things that are important to know today. Here is her blog. She also runs a web site, Net Profits Today, that ties in very well with what she teaches.

It's all well and good to look for the most recent and current information on a subject . . . but to discount hard copy books because they are "aged" seems to miss the point, IMO. You want good information and tried and true strategies. Sometimes the latest web site or ebook on the market is simply a rehash or a "guess" by a wannabee marketer that doesn't walk the walk.

Listening to someone like Rosalind Gardner that is a proven super affiliate and has years under her belt, who also updates her information and tries to keep her audience informed with what works for her in real practice is worth a lot, IMO.

Anyway, I wish you the very best in your new career.

        Steve

I will second what Steve said about Rosalind.

Also, as I have said before I used to promote an excellent in depth course by a Marketer by the name of Steve Scott called "Affiliate Marketing without the Bulls@t "

It is a bit old but some of the concepts particularly the Email Marketing section are just excellent !

          You can google it

It's not new information you are going to find if it all looks the same to you. It whether or not you take action from the resources you have learned from that really counts. There is only so much you can learn from a book and a coach. The real teaching comes from taking action and learning from personal experience and applying the skills.

Most reviewed are gamed, that make sense.

    My suggestion for you is,
based on what product you're trying to sell.

For example, if you were to promote gaming content, facebook is your buddy.
If you were to promote a serious content, let's say buy iPhone, I did say promote on search engine.

Basically, pick a market, a product which you feel familiar with then think of your traffic source.
And master the traffic source you've picked.

It's not difficult, but money and passion and time are your worst enemy.

Unfortunately, many of the recommended marketing ebooks are outdated. If you want to buy a book about affiliate marketing be aware that it be new and practical (for sure you want to make money according to it).

Recently I searched on Amazon for new published books to find what new has come in affiliate marketing world. I came across to "Affiliate Marketing Success-Step By Step Guide to Make 1000% ROI Using Dirt Cheap or Free Traffic Sources and Top Converting Affiliate Products". Although I am an experienced marketer but I have been tempted to buy It for its many resources (traffic and affiliate programs). Also, its table of content looks very comprehensive.

However, in the end, what makes you a successful affiliate marketer (after learning does and don'ts) is your own experience during the course of action.

provided you already have campaigns running...the absolute best way to learn about AM is to seek out and make friends with 5 guys all doing $1k/day profit off your chosen traffic source.

The people you want to be learning from usually arn't the people who are writing about it.

The original post of this thread started back in February of this year, 2015. I am going to post anyway.

There is a book on the market through Amazon.com called:

How I made my first million online and how you can too by Ewen Chia

It is a PHYSICAL book and not an ebook.

It has a lot of very useful info in it in today's internet marketing world.

The Affiliate Black Book by John R. Barker ( Mr X ) is a good affiliate marketing course which is recommended by other successful marketers.

It's a bit pricey at $297 but you get what you pay for as this course is detailed and not just random bits thrown together at a small fee with several irritating upsells. An updated version has just been released.
