Recently a new software has launched in the market called YouZign. It's a web based software and you can create some good graphics yourself without the need of photoshop. You don't need to download anything, just login and start using it.

You can get it here: youzign.com/special/

Youzign is only for creating graphics with pre-loaded elements and elements you upload from your computer. It won't actually help you learn graphics, which is what he's asking for. It's definitely not a replacement for Photoshop.

I'd highly recommend googling "photoshop tutorials for web design" or something similar. You'll often find list posts of the top tutorials for this sort of thing.

As a graphic designer myself, I always benefit from trying other people's tutorials. There's always something new to learn, no matter how experienced you are.

There are so many ways to learn online. You can use the youtube for learning anything. If you purchase a Original version of the Adobe Photoshop, they will provide some tutorial. You can learn from this video. All of the videos is in online. You may not learn everything without practice. If you want to learn everything, you must practice, when you feel anything, you do not know, then you can find on youtube. You will find everything here. Thanks a lot.

IMHO if you're just looking to just get by with some basic graphic knowledge then there tons of online graphic creators and basic tools you can use. However, for more complex tasks you would probably still have to pay someone else.

Now if you're serious about graphic design and want to truly better your skills your better off focusing with Photoshop and other Adobe programs such as Illustrator/Indesign. It will take time (I've been using Photoshop for over 10 years). I'm still learning things about it, but it has helped my web design skills immensely. It's a valuable skill, so if you're serious about learning design and improving your web design, I highly recommend this route.

    Just my opinion.

I agree! Utilize YouTube! So many free video tutorials available.

Also, Udemy has quite a few courses.

It can seem overwhelming when you first start, but tackle just a few very simple projects. You'll get better and better in your skills with all the practice!

It really depends on what graphics you need created. I would just get the monthly payment on Photoshop. Photoshop takes years to master but (depending on what you need) only a few weeks to learn how to use. If you can learn how to do simple tasks on photoshop it can save you time and money by not having to pay to get simple tasks done and time by not having to explain what you need done (which can sometimes take a huge amount of time even for relatively simple tasks)

Depends on what you want to do. My needs are anywhere from simple words on image to complex multilayer PSD webpage designs.

Some things are worth doing yourself and others it is better to pay unless you want to go through the learning curve.

I have Photoshop and it is very helpful to know the basics. Saves time to know.

My favorite 3 ways to learn:

    1. YouTube
    2. Google
    3. Lynda Courses

Fonts make a professional look. Look at good font combos here.

    https://www.canva.com/

Most of the fonts they are using are available for free on Dafont, Font Squirrel and Google Fonts.

Use Pinterest to find visual ideas.

Use stock photos from places like 123rf.com, dollarphotoclub.com (have to be a member but photos are $1), etc

I, also, use SnagIt every day. Advanced SnagIt is like Photoshop Very Basic with layers, blur, words on graphics, resizing etc. I use it to make little graphics like words on pictures or to show ideas to my programmers and graphic artists.

Learning graphic design can be an easy and hard thing to do as the same time.
One thing you can do is learning the basics of photoshop (if you use photoshop) then practice using it. With the basics you have at hand, you can start experimenting on things.
Graphic design is not just about using photoshop, you have to keep yourself acquainted with the design trends, learn the designing principles, and learn the aesthetics of designing. I believe having the basics and the proper creativity can go a long way with graphic design compared to someone who knows every design software but has very little creativity in mind.

You might want to be more specific about what you want to learn. Be specific about what you want to achieve.
Graphic design is a big arena.
If you just want to create quotes with graphics, I suggest Pablo by buffer.
I use mainly for creating simple FB Timeline Cover, Twitter and youtube.
Learning Photoshop can be very extensive and cost you a lot of time that you could use for creating better content.
