I feel like there is too much information, too many strategies, and too many distractions to stick to one thing.

I just want to do them ALL!

But I can only live for so long, lol

Well the first step to a speedy recovery is admitting you have a problem lol but really you have to have self discipline and allow yourself time to take one strategy and really make it work before moving on.

The best thing you can do is focus on something until you are successful with it, it's the best way to generate success in your business.

"Too Smart to Succeed, Too Simple to Fail"

Don't overthink it... don't over-complicate it...don't start too many things in one fell swoop...

There are so many viable systems out there available to pursue, but the trick is to pick one that has proven to work and DO it... Don't think about it, don't try to IMPROVE it, don't try to "make it your own"...

If someone sells you a system that they have proven to succeed at a level you want to succeed, buy it, read it or watch or listen to it, and then do it... Do not deviate... And give yourself time to fail and try again...

Smart people have a hard time succeeding because the "think too much", over-complicate, or just keep not being able to focus...

If you keep it SIMPLE, buy, try, and do it like failure will cause you to die, there is hope you will find...

It's like you found yourself on a desert island, and there are other factions out there... to succeed you need to set up base camp and grow your team...

If all you do is keep wandering the island, looking for the "Perfect" place to set up base camp, you will wander until you die or something kills you...

You eventually have to pick a spot to the best of your availability and GO...yeah, maybe you didn't pick the PERFECT spot, but as you work at whatever you've chosen, it will get better and better...

The true choice of success is to pick a spot to set up camp, do it, and then run with it...

Stop wandering the island...you'll never find the perfect spot...

It's common. This is the trick:

    1. Review all models that appear to work.
    2. Decide which ones you can do (given knowledge and resources).
    3. Research deeper each of those models.
    4. Decide on one.
    5. Put together a business plan.
    6. Take action,
    7. Get it earning.
    8. Outsource the running of it if profits permit.
    9. Rinse, repeat.

Like all businesses IM requires Focus. Choose the method that resonates with you, the one you have the most interest in making money with. Whatever it is list building, product creation, blogging, cpa etc. If you are going to buy products buy them around your chosen method. It is much better to buy 4 courses on CPA lets say then 4 courses on 4 unrelated methods.

I also highly suggest getting a coach if possible in your selected arena. They will have some sort of structure to follow and you will tend to concentrate more on that 1 specific method and if you concentrate on something you will be more likely to get results. It will also hold you more accountable.

I think what Robert Puddy is wrote is very, very understated...

This is an awesome example by Warren Buffet

Prioritize Your Goals with Warren Buffett's Two-List System

Once the Top 5 planning session was over, Warren then asked "but what about these other 20 things on your list that you didn't circle? What is your plan for completing those?" Steve replied confidently "Well the top five are my primary focus but the other twenty come in at a close second. They are still important so I'll work on those intermittently as I see fit as I'm getting through my top 5. They are not as urgent but I still plan to give them dedicated effort."

To Steve's surprise, Warren responded sternly, "No. You've got it wrong Steve.Everything you didn't circle just became your 'avoid at all cost list'. No matter what, these things get no attention from you until you've succeeded with your top 5."
That and the fact that overwhelm is often trying to get from 0 to 10 when all you got to do is get from 0 to 1... and work from there.

And last thing, I'm still thinking this one, I heard someone talk about overwhelm as being fear. Maybe it is (... like I said, I'm still thinking this one through), maybe it's fear of success and maybe it's fear of failure... maybe it's both.

Pick one thing and stick with it...

or find a really good coach who can give you some direction finding a good fit for you based on your innate skills and abilities / hobbies ...

Information overload is the same thing as not having any clear direction, and that's the perfect time for a coach / consultant .. or the perfect time to commit to one thing and see it through by yourself.

  • Hey man, I know there is so much info out there! What you really need to do is bundle down and become an expert in a single area of info. That's how you make a lot of money.

  • Zodiax,

One Strategy =>> One Project =>> One Set of Short Term and Long Term Goals

    EXAMPLE

Video Marketing =>> Youtube Channel for Videos to Generate Ad Revenues =>> Short Term Goal is to Collectively Get 100 Views Per Week in 3 Months with 10 Videos to Start with and 2 Videos Per Month for Each Succeeding Month, and Long Term Goal is to Collectively Get 10,000 Views Per Month with 100 Videos to Start with and 10 Videos per Month for Each Succeeding Month

Then, you can add another strategy to an existing strategy in a project if you don't hit any of your short term and long term goals...

One Strategy + Additional Strategy =>> One Project =>> One Set of Short Term and Long Term Goals

    EXAMPLE

Video Marketing + Mailing List Building =>> Youtube Channel for Videos to Generate Ad Revenues and Build a Mailing List =>> Short Term Goal is to Collectively Get 100 Views and 25 Subscribers Per Week in 3 Months with 10 Videos to Start with and 2 Videos Per Month for Each Succeeding Month, and Long Term Goal is to Collectively Get 10,000 Views and 2,500 Subscribers Per Month with 100 Videos to Start with and 10 Videos per Month for Each Succeeding Month

That way, you can add another strategy after you've hit your short term and long term goals, i.e. In the case example above, you can add affiliate marketing to your project, in order to also earn affiliate commissions from sales generated by your promotional follow-up emails to your mailing list of subscribers...

Or, you can go with a completely new project with that other strategy if you don't hit any of your short term or long term goals...

    That's it for now. Cheers!

Get rid of the distractions. Better now than later. Better now than 5 years from now when you're still not making any money online. If the discraction is a family member, spouse, friend, or co-worker... stop all communication about *business* to them.

Eventually when you do become successful, you will more than likely have to change your friends, and the people you currently hang out with... *maybe* including your spouse. They will say, "yeah i was there with you from the beginning when you were struggling".

Yet in fact all they were doing is trying to convince to get a *real* job, and talking crap about you and your business - waiting on you to fail. Prove them wrong, get rid of the distractions, and leave negative folks in your life.
