you do this, continually each day, you will find what works like GANGBUSTERS, and then what FAILS miserably. Soon you will realise, having a real business consists of building a list, giving them good content, and then offering them stuff, will basically be on your way to doing $4000 a month.

1. Flip Sites - less popular now but still money to be made in it. Buy a domain pay a small out to create 50+ pages of high quality content. Then sell it on at a profit.

2. Create a long term website/blog or forum around a specific theme either selling a product or service or providing comprehensive information on a topic.

3. Go to fiverr.com and set up your own internet business with a key skill you have.

1st- as you said you already have some experience with selling product and know basics, so now just write down what is causing your failure and try to learn form the mistakes, i am very much sure that you know your mistakes very well, if you try writing it down u will surely know it and then take action on it.
2nd- read warrior forum, but reading daily so many threads will not help, you have to have knowledge juice of everything u read and write it down on daily basis, take action

Something I'd strongly consider is finding a specific corner of the market and specializing in that. For example, I spoke to a company the other week about a new website and all they do is working with personal trainers and small independent gyms.

It was about 3K for a relatively small website but they knew the market really well, they already have experience building websites that will convert and they also offered extra support which included working to improve the conversion of visitors to opt-ins.

All good stuff. I don't really know what a website would normally cost but based on their expertise in the personal training market and the extras they provided (included SEO) I recommended using the company.
