Need Help With Thunderbird (Not the Wine)

This is probably really simple but I just installed Thunderbird on my computer and I am having a problem clicking on external links in the messages.

Every time I click on an external link in an email, I get a "Page Not Found" error. There has to be some setting somewhere that controls that but I haven't been able to find it.

Any experts out there?

Thanks!

I use Thunderbird, and I have had that problem crop up three times. When it has happened to me, it was not Thunderbird, but something else going on in my registry. I don't remember the steps I used to fix it. On two of my computers, I eventually had to re-install Windows, not because of Thunderbird, but it did resolve the problem.

Sometimes, clicking on the link would open a page, but it just stayed blank and said it was loading the site. When I went back to Thunderbird and clicked it again, the site would load up the way it should have done with the first click.

You might try going to the Thunderbird forum and asking for help. Maybe your problem has a simpler solution than mine did.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your help.

Curt, I hope I don't have to go to that extreme! If so, I will just switch back to my crappy Outlook!

John, I will check out that link!

    Thanks again!

If memory serves me right, and once in awhile it does, that problem on my laptop resolved itself. But, I have no idea why it did.

Chris, can't Outlook Express be set up almost identically to Thunderbird? I've looked at the idea of changing to OE, because TB can be a bit tricky if you have to do a system restore, or something like that.

    Ken,

You would probably be the first person I would call! Now, if it were white lightning, I know someone else who is an expert on that!

    Take care!

    Curt,

I hadn't thought of Outlook Express but that would be my next choice if I couldn't get Thunderbird working. I have heard a lot of good things about Thunderbird and I want to try to make it work.... just get me away from Outlook!

    Take care!
