Audacity/Audio Editing Question: How To Normalize Two Sound Clips Added Together?

Hi guys,

Quick question re:Audacity's editing process - I have two voiceover audio files I need to combine, one after the other, to create a video sales letter's audio track (combining the two is easy enough).

HOWEVER, the second clip is louder than the first, and I want to normalize the sound so that the finished clip has a steady, even volume throughout.

Any ideas how to do this?

  • Under "effect" find the "normalize" feature.

Normalize each file to 0db. Start there and see if that helps.

If one file still sounds lower than the other,

use the amplify feature to raise it. It's also under "effect".

If you need more detail on how to do this, let me know.
