Can someone explain this (from ezine)

I have a product that I am promoting on one of my blogs. It's on a separate page, so the URL for the product looks like this:
http: // myblog/ product name

I wanted to write an article for ezine and link to the product page in the resource box but after reading their affiliate guidelines, I'm not sure I can do it. What I'm confused about is their wording "forward/redirects". The link i would be adding in the resource box, takes them to a page on my blog and does not redirect them anywhere...unless they click on the affiliate link themselves.

Here's their guidelines:

Affiliate links will be allowed if the link is a domain name you own which forward/redirects to the affiliate link from the top-level of the domain name. For example, it is permissible to forward to an affiliate link from:

http: // your- company-name . com/

...but it would not be permissible to forward to an affiliate link from:

http: //your-company-name . com/page. html
http: //your-company-name . com/subdirectory/
http: //your-company-name.com/subdirectory/ page . html
http: //sub-domain.your-company-name . com/

Any article with an affiliate link that does not adhere to this guideline will cause the article to be rejected.

  Joanne, you can link to pages in your own website or blog - I know because I just submitted an article that had two links in the bio. The first went to the main site www.---.com and the second went to a specific page on that site www.---.com/page.html. And the article was approved.
  
  I think this rule only applies to redirects to other sites (like affiliate sites).

Well it really seems to depend on who is reviewing your article.
I have been told by eZinearticles support that they permit you to forward within your own domain, but the example they give shows otherwise.
I have submitted articles which link within my own domain that have been rejected.
I have seen many articles that are accepted with the same forwarding I was attempting. So who knows...

  Hmm Scott, that is interesting, maybe you're right that it depends on who reviews your article. I can't see why they'd have a problem directing people to your own site, like an opt-in page or a related article, etc. They'll even let you forward a top level domain to an affiliate link, which I've done before too. Not sure why they won't allow a redirect to a subpage though.

You can link to any page on your site. If you want to link to your hoplink, you are allowed to link to a top domain (home page) that redirects to your affiliate hoplink. Let's say you are promoting product A on ClickBank. Your link looks like http://yourClickBankID.productA.hop.clickbank.net You are not allowed to insert your affiliate link inside the article. however you are allowed to insert yoursiteurl.com if yoursiteurl.com redirects into your hop link. You are not permitted to insert a redirect link if this is not your home page that is redirected, for instance yoursiteurl.com/anypage.html redirecting to your affiliate link is NOT allowed
