Hi All, This may be a silly question but how do you write within a video? You know how you see some videos where they are talking but they are writing notes on the video, that is what I am trying to figure out. I know that can't be done with a mouse. Just trying to figure it out that one piece. THANKS! |

hi They could be using something like Camtasia . It's screen capture software and with that you can do many things such as draw on the screen whilst recording Hope that helps Dean |

If you are using a software like Camtasia, the screen markup is in the recorder under effects. I'm not familiar with other screen capture tools except for Snag-it and Vegas. Rich Mann |

I'm a Mac user, and therefore make use of iMovie which ships free with every new Mac. Fairly straight forward to use, and allows you to add text to the screen, as per your query. I'm aware of both Camtasia and Sony Vegas for Windows PC if that's more appropriate too. Post a link to your first video? |

The best way to actually "write over top" of your video - like you had a pen, is to use a very cheap, but effective program called annotate pro. You will be able to write over any program while recording, and I actually think it is better than using the Camatasia Studio hiliter. Now that may also mean you will want to use a wacom tablet too, which cost $89 to $600, but this depends on how accurate you want your writing to be on screen. |

I am familiar w/ Camtasia etc. type products but I should have said what hardware do you use. Is there a writing tool the simulates writing or are they using a mouse (which I think would be very hard)? I am guessing there is a pad or something. THANKS AGAIN!
