Hello, what are some of the main reasons you move stuff around on landing pages to do a/b testing? why not just do a very beautiful landing page and let it be??

It's about finding the best results ( Opt ins ) for your squeeze page for your niche.

Sometimes a different heading/ image or a word underlined can increase your opt ins.

Even a plain white background instead of a fancy background image can increase opt in %.

It's definitely worth testing in my opinion.

What's beautiful to you may/may not be beautiful to your intended audience.

Of course, "beauty" isn't exactly the right term to use here, but I think I understood your intent.

Your purpose in a/b testing is to determine what colors, headlines, content placement, wording, etc. creates the desired reaction in your target audience. What draws their eyes to your order button, what entices them to read your most important bullet items, and eventually click on your order/submit button?

"Beautiful" is pleasant, but doesn't necessarily compel your visitor to take the desired action.

Yep, why bother optimizing, what a waste of time and effort. I'm sure you will get it perfect, first try.

      Sums it up perfectly.

All of the old studies into advertising - Hopkin's book "scientific advertising" for one - had remarkable response rate changes from very minor adjustments to offer.

      get to testing.

Not squeeze page related, but real world ab testing results on a $6,000pm adsense spend.

Removing an ! at the end of the first line increased the conversion rate (brochure download) from 6% to 9% overnight.

Did a lot of multivariate testing with vwo after that. The results were often small 5% improvements, but they add up.

For me it depends on what you want to split test.

A lot of what people swear by doesn't really help me that much. Changing button colors, layouts and tweaks doesn't do much of anything in split testing.

Changing copy - I mean big tweaks to copy makes a big difference.

I do all my split testing on landing pages for email capture.

Because sometimes different headlines, color of landing pages, design, etc.. Can make a huge difference in CR, you can of course leave just one LP but if you don't test you'll never know if other LP performs better.
