Trying to determine the relevance from a GeoTargeting perspective and a purly volume perspective between the two. Looking at some long tail keywords today. For Example: fitzgerald hotel las vegas no quotes searched on WordTracker Free Keyword Suggestion Tool from Wordtracker and Google https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal Results: WordTracker 2 searches Google 2,900 Local & Global San Jose Car Rental WordTracker 2 searches Google 27,100 Exact The point being not the numbers so much... but the Enormous disparity between the two services. Statistically speaking there isn't even enough data in the WordTracker search to make a comparison. So people ask what is the "Best" Keyword tool... and you kind of have to Wonder how good any keyword tool is that isn't pulling it's data from Google. That is quite a disparity. Care to comment? |

I think Google's data is much better and use it far more often than WordTracker.

i tend to think exactly the opposite of nick. I have been burned by google a few times but, never by word tracker. Maybe its coincidence but i have gotten to number one for many keywords google said had lots of traffic and have found out it's not there. At any rate both tools are just estimations(an educated guess) of actual traffic. No tool is fool proof but, to be more sure you should use a combination of a few tools.
