Hi Members,
I am new to Internet Marketing.
Here's my problem, I am an engineering student from India and for my further studies (a two year course in UK) I need 30,000 GBP (about 47,000 USD) by November 2015 and another 30,000 GBP (about 47000 USD) by September 2016.
Is this target feasible through Internet Marketing?
If yes, please suggest me a pathway.
Thanks in Advance.

Yes, it's feasible if you know what you're doing.

Do you know what you are doing?

Do you have a business, or a business idea?
Do you know anything about marketing, or online marketing?
Do you have a budget to work with?

If not, it may not be feasible.

Or maybe one of those other guys will post here and tell you it is, and you can believe him or her instead.

    Hello,

Good luck on your goals! Really it depends on if and how much money you have to invest to get things started, and how much free time you can dedicate to it. If these two resources are plentiful (perhaps not a ton of money, but at least $1,000), you could look into PPC, but make sure to track and test everything so you can start getting winning campaigns earlier. Once you find a winning campaign, it's just a game of monitoring stats and pumping money into the ad to make money.

You could also look at developing an information product, although unless you already have a sizable list or reputation, this probably won't get you to your goal soon enough.

Teespring can also be a great source of revenue, and you get paid pretty quickly. Look around the WSO for some courses, Teespring Domination is a pretty good one I've personally purchased. It really comes down to be able to get a good design and target the right people with your ads.

You could also try building a list, but unless you have A LOT of time to put into gaining free traffic, or a good amount of money to get paid traffic, $47k in 8 months might be tough. If you do build a list, remember to put the quality of your relationship with your subscribers first and foremost before thinking of them as just simply an online ATM.

    Good luck!

    Hi Robin,

I guess, but, what does the money represent to you? You laid out why you want to make the dough, which is a good thing, and gives you clarity, but what's the feeling that you're after? Do you want to be free through making the money? Or will it bind you?

Many set money goals and work like hell to get there. No reward in that. Others set money goals and have fun getting there because money means freedom to them.

I'm typing these words from Bali. 10 minutes away from about the most gorgeous beach on earth.

In my 7 years online I NEVER set a money goal, ever, because I cared not to accumulate stuff, or money, or anything. I always wanted to be free. To do what I want, when I want, where I want to. I roll out of the bed in Fiji or laze in Bali, and I care not too much about money goals, or money outcomes, because I'm doing the internet marketing/ebook selling/freelancing bit to change lives, not to hit some arbitrary number.

Food for thought, for ya Robin.

Happy to see you here on Warrior.

    Signing off from Bali!

Very hard till the degree to near impossible, though I personally did make 30000 USD in the first 9 months starting with only 50 dollar in my pocket.

However I started years ago and back than there was much less competition so I wouldn't be able to replicate that success with such small investment.

Actually with a decent budget but little knowledge I think I would still fail if I had to start in 2015.

        Few reasons:

        1) Ranking takes much longer caused by Google obvious

        2) All affiliate niches are much more competitive these days cause everyone has a PBN

However there are also new opportunities of course, think of social media and such, but without paid promotion on those platforms I think it would still be immens hard so better take a good bag of money with you and be prepared to loose a substantial amount while learning the ropes.

I was an exception back than, and nowadays it's truly ten times harder in my opinion.

Holy moly! USD$94,000 for a 2 year engineering course!

I hope after that you've already got an awesome job lined up in your career after that course is completed. That's a lot of money.

    Of course.

But without investment, knowledge, and the requisite time to apply yourself, highly unlikely. If you're determined to meet that goal, you'll need all three.

Very much agreed. The thing is that business (and IM is a business) is something that rarely pays off in the short-run. The reason you start a business is for the long term benefits. Even well-funded startups with elite teams of marketers, engineers and and other top-level talent often take years to turn a profit -- if they ever turn a profit at all. My own experience echoes this; while now I would be very disappointed if I made $47K in eight months, my first eight months I made... well, let's just say considerably less... In fact it took almost two years before both of our site's founders were able to replace the income we left when we left our jobs with income from the business.

The point is, if you're in it for the long term, by all means join the ranks of internet entrepreneurs. But if you're just looking for quick cash (and eight months is quick, especially at the scale you're looking at), I'd look elsewhere.

There is a near 0% chance that you will raise that kind of money as a newbie.

You should probably talk to other Indians who are in that same UK program that you want to join. Ask them how they got the money. I'm sure there is a Facebook group for the school. Find some people to ask there. Your current school may also have some answers.

I'll be the voice of reason here and say NO, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO MAKE 47K IN 8 MONTHS.

If you knew Internet Marketing, understood how to identify a niche, had solid writing skills and had the determination to work long hours, split test your results, constantly generate content and still go to school...then I'd say there was a real chance of you making that money.

Since you don't have any of that knowledge though and you already have a career planned in engineering, then you need to get out there and get a job...any job...and work your butt off to pay your tuition. Since you won't earn the $47k from work alone, you also need to start applying for scholarships, research paid internships (on top of your job) and do whatever you can to stay in school.

At this point in your life, chasing the dream of making tons of money overnight is not a luxury you can afford to entertain. Since well over 95% of marketers never make any real money, this is the worst possible thing you could do. So go get a job...or drop out of school and chase Internet Marketing full time. Trying to do both though is a fool's errand and you'll only end up dropping out of school and being broke. I'm rooting for you so don't do that.

Joining the chorus is asking - do you have basic knowledge of site and listbuilding? Genuine marketing principles?

Starting out in IM with a pretty much "gun to your head" figure in mind can lead to epic frustration.

Better to focus on delivering to customers value and service. Then hone what works to direct you to the money.

    Good luck anyway mate

  • $47,000 in 8 months as a newbie?

    Not impossible......

    But not exactly the norm.

I know people who have been at this for years and have yet to earn more than a couple thousand bucks. It can take a year just to discover what you will be doing.

Others think of this more of a long term business as opposed to a one time thing, so even if building a huge list may be profitable, it won't make you a huge amount of cash within the next month or so.j

You know what I mean when I tell you to look for a salesletter or product that says, "Send out one email, and earn $5,000 right away." While it's true for a big Internet marketer be able to do this with their list with a single click, you'll find that they are only able to do so because they spent the last several years growing that list, building trust with their buyers, and finding the right niche and really getting targeted buyers to their list.

While I can't guarantee you'll make $47,000 in 8 months, it's worth making as much as you possibly can. It's still a long 8 months from now.

Do you have to pay all of that upfront?

There a ton of things you could do.

Find something that interests you. It could be selling affiliate products, you could create your own product and sell it on Clickbank, there is offline marketing (which I feel would be your best bet.) Offline marketing is when you sell to a business owner services to help them market their business,

You could build them a website, do SEO for them to rank their site, manage their social media management (this is a big money maker.) pay per click advertising for your client could also be big because they'll pay for advertising while also pay you to do the work.

Yes, having a business owner pay you $1,000-$5,000 every single month is very possible. If you could have just a few of them hire you, you just may be able to earn what you need.

Not many people here get questions like these where somebody needs to earn 5 figures in just a few months with zero experience.

A lot of things will come into play like your experience, your work ethic, the business you get into, and if you put in the hard work this business requires of you.

So I have narrowed down to following (Please correct me if I am wrong)
47000 USDs is almost impossible target for a newb.. So rather working for the fee upfront I would find sponsors and loans and focus on accumulation of knowledge and building a long term Internet business which would help me in repayments..
Regarding my skills I have made some websites in the past for few clients.. And some SEO....

Now the focus shifts to the most important question .....
What do you suggest as course of action for a newb to IM world...

So did I read right with a total of $94,000 (47,000 + 47,000) as your minimum in next two years?

If so, get your thinking cap on and promote or sell:
        1 product at $47,000
        2 products at $23,500 each
        3 products at $15,667 each
        4 products at $11,750 each
        5 products at $9,400 each
        etc, etc

        OR

Set a daily income target of $196 from now until Nov 2015

        ($47,000 / 8 mths = $5,875pm / approx 30days = $196 per day)

        Then repeat again for 2016!

BTW: You've got 245days to achieve your target (Mon 9 Mar to Mon 9 Nov 2015)

Again either by promoting or selling a product.

Anticipating your question of "which specific product(s) will sell for $196 each day?"

        Couldn't say

However, it doesn't have to be one product because little daily sales can add up to $196 per day

        and

living in London UK, you gonna need more than that to cover your other expenses!

Only one way to find out ;-)

I see a case study produced in Dec 2015 detailing whether you have or haven't succeeded.

May surprise you how many will want to read it, be it for sale or as an optin incentive

More likely improbable if you are just a Newbie. There are some Cases where people do the right things just at the right time and made more than that.

Tee spring comes to mind. I know a few who did that and much , much more. But that was more in the earlier days.

I think you ought to try to get this notion out of your head.

Or maybe go rob a bank

Never set money goals. In truth, making money online is both unreliable and unpredictable but very much realistic.

Instead, set goals like where you want to be as an internet marketer or where you want to be with your blog or website. For example, a year from now want to have written one post a week (52 posts) and make sure that you've actually helped/inspired/motivated someone and most of all had fun yourself.

The only way you'll ever earn money online in a consistent fashion is by being a consistent source of inspiration or problem-solving for people. Like I heard a man say once:

    "Money is beside the point"

Think of an income as a bonus, the real reward is helping people in some way.

    Hope this helped,

    Karl

$94,000 is a lot of money.
Though that kind of money from Internet Marketing is possible, but,
as you said, you are new to IM, which makes it impossible.

Hang on a second before cursing me for demotivating you.

Internet Marketing is not easy as it is made to believe. I am sure you may have browsed through a lot of sales pages which showed loads of money, working on the beach and stuff like that, but there is a lot of learning required.

Even if you have a lot of money and time to spend on this entirely new thing to you. You will have to spend a month or two learning for things, just to find out what works. and what not.

As @backlinkmasters has mentioned above in their comment, PPC is the way to get there, but it will require a lot of funds.

Pick a Product that's selling fast and gives a good commission per sale.
Promote via PPC and Facebook Ads,
    Optimize Your Ads.
Put more money into those Ads.

This is what Seth Godin said which fits in this context.

All of us are willing to spend a little time and a little money looking for a shortcut now and then. A quicker, more effective way to lose weight, make friends, earn money and get clean, fresh breath. Sometimes, one of those shortcuts pays off and it reinforces our belief that there might just be a better way.

It seems, though, that those that spend the most effort in search of shortcuts are often the most disappointed and the least successful.

    Best of Luck.

Try and shop around for other university courses /faculties in London.

It is not worth it to pay so much for one year of University, just because it is in London.

Yeah, thats the problem... course requires around 15000 GBP for first year and 20000 GBP for 2nd year for non-EU students.. and accommodations and other expenses mount up to 20000 for 2 years....

I would say no as well because what most people don't realize about having a blog is the amount of time that it will take to get to the top of Google. I did some research on my niche and took a look at the site that was in the #1 spot and it was started 3 years ago. It looked alright but even the guy that owned it said it had been awhile since he had posted anything. Google does more the longer that you have the website and while it is entirely possible to make that kind of money, you need to be in this for the long term

You'll need to know exactly what you're doing and prepare to work long hours on your building and promoting your website. Few internet marketers become that successful after only 8 months, because of trial and error. Try to research as much as you can and waste no time and you might get there.

That means you need to generate $3,916 monthly for 12 months.

It's possible to make much more online but not easy to set the ball rolling.

One thing you should consider is the business model,
the amount of time you need to devote, initial capital
otherwise if you are starting from scratch and doing the
job all alone and manual it will definitely take up to 6 months or more.

I advice you look at something else.

A lot of Indians are making $1,500 a month from Fiverr
    why not replicate their system.
