Hi Leoonna,

I think your attitude is fine, and I'm assuming you have had a good look around through the threads vis the search function here?

There are many old threads that spell out approaches in detail. YouTube videos combined with a step by step guides on blogs from some of the guys who have built up great sites through case studies would be another great place to go.

As a skilled content creator I think you are off to a great start with your work so you have a good advantage there.

You have writing skills, because I felt like I want to help you when I first read your post

So here's my 2cents.

Saturated niche:
Health niche is really saturated and especially for a newbie.. hard to compete with big medical sites.. if you choose a sub-niche inside the health niche would be okay.

About writing:
Are you a member with a good portfolio on the freelancing sites?
Because you can make really good money doing freelance writing, you just need some good reviews and you're good to go. So the trick is to do it for cheap in the beginning to gather as much reviews as possible, and after that you raise the price

Blogging:
Bloggin' is a time consuming business model but worth it.
Did you monetized your blog with adsense?
Did you set up an analytic tool to see if it's getting enough visitors? increasing, descreasing... which articles were popular? and so on..
Data analysis is crucial to succeed on every business online or offline.
Did youSubmitted your posts to social bookmarking sites?

If you work on your blog hard enough, you can earn +$1K per month from adsense alone.

For your thread:

Ask for reviews from your customers. Consider giving review copies.
Work on your copy or hire it out. It's not the greatest sales copy.
Include reviews in your copy.

Do you want to blog because you're passionate about a topic?
If yes, then PM me about the tech stuff and I'll help and/or direct to resources. If a high degree of monetary success is a concern that is secondary to creating what you love and sharing it with like minded people then getting started is easy

If you want to blog for money, this is much more of a project that requires market research and a business plan if you want to be successful. I can maybe direct you to some coaches who can help with the general IM training.

Really, getting a site up is quite simple.

The fitness/weight loss niche is a billion-dollar one, so it's good that you already have an interest in something that's profitable. When it comes to making money with a blog -- what we call being a niche blogger -- the goal is to set up a site with product reviews and articles about topics of interest in your niche. To get traffic, especially from the search engines, you have to write about topics that people are currently looking into. It's also a good idea to start an e-mail list, so you can promote products to your potential customers over and over.

If I were you, I'd start out by writing about a product that I knew was popular and one that I already had purchased. For example, in 2014, the Insanity workout program by Shaun T. was the most-searched workout product. Since it's so popular, there are lots of keywords that you could get ranked for that would bring in some traffic to your blog. P90X was also popular. When it comes to finding stuff to write about for your articles, you could go to the news section of Google and look up your niche.

Oh, It's standard to use the Wordpress platform. I like to use "pages" for my reviews and "posts" for my articles. I hope this helps some and makes sense.

Hi there,

I think it's best to relax a bit and focus on learning a skill that can help you in the long run. Content creation (Blogging and Videos) does take time but it's worth it if you're doing it the right way which is why it's best to learn a thing or two about it.

What you need to learn and master is traffic generation and list building. Once you lock that down, you're all good.

That niche you're in is very profitable once you know how to get yourself in front of an audience. I highly recommend you work on creating traffic first. Once you lock that down, you can do anything you want and people will be around to buy or join you.

Since you're an experienced blogger, try doing SEO. If you don't know how to do SEO, you can outsource it and focus on on-page SEO which is pretty easy.

We offer content services too (as a standalone service) and totally agree with your opinion on how difficult it is to get regular gigs.

My advice to you would be : Don't lose your focus and don't start venturing into stuff that you already don't know about just because your writing business needs a bit more time to become stable.

Health is a really big niche and there's good demand for quality content. You just have to reach out to private clients. Reach out to product creators in the health niche and offer your services. Look for blogs attached to health e-commerce sites that lack quality content and approach the owners.

It isn't super easy, but its going to work well. With enough efforts you should be able to get a few monthly retainer clients in just a few days. Trust me advertising your services aloine won't get you the required volume. You have to reach out to people yourself and make them realize how they are losing business to competition that has better content.

Treat this as a full fledged business and you will shine.

Your website's name doesn't have to be perfect. Just pick a few ideas, do some brainstorming, write them all down and when you think you're ready, pick one domain name that you like best! Preferably, play with some keywords from the niche you're about to attack, and see where this leads you, domain name wise.

Regarding setting up a website, I'd go with wordpress, since it's sooooo easy to install! You just click 3 times and there ya go, it's like magic. And browse good ol' google for a nice theme you can install. Most of the are free, you just pick one and install it.

Start writing a blog about what you can share. Perhaps your nursing expertise. Setting up is easy you only need to take it one step at a time. These days you can set up a blog in seconds. The warrior forum has a blog once you are allowed to enter it. Wordpress, Wix, Weebly...there are a tonne out there....once you get that going you will want to keep adding to it. You can advertise your blog on facebook and linked in....it will drive some traffic to your blog or website, by the way did I mention you can create free websites...like I said don't let this overwhelm you .....it all takes time and one step at a time...you will enjoy it.....have fun..there are so many free resources out there...

#1 Be careful who you deal with.

as a nurse I am interested in the medical and health or fitness niche.

If I were you, I would think about a "personal consultant" business. A lot of people are looking for "health" coaches.

Outsource this but be aware of #1 above. When you get in a position of needing to allow people to log into your accounts you have to be very careful.
